I have tried both - I have had the caterpillar most of my life - I am just particularly hairy. Once you start waxing, you have to stay on top of it at least every 6 weeks. Its on average only about $15, so its worth it to have it professionally done, and being pampered once a month is nice, too. That being said, it only takes 10 minutes and pennies on the dollar to bleach it at home and that lasts almost as long. I can't make the decision for you, but I hope t his helps!

Neither, threading. It hurts no matter what but the results are worth it!

I shave. I just do it in the shower every morning. I have very, very fair body hair, so bleaching wouldn't do any good, and the thought of waxing makes my eyes water!

What is this threading that a couple of people have mentioned? I've never heard of it. Where do you have that done?

Don't bleach or wax. I take some mustache scissors and cut the hairs way down. Waxing or threading only makes the hairs grow back more and thicker. I've been trimming those hairs this way for years but I am attracted to JB's recommendations too.

Threading. There is no skin irritation like you can have with bleaching or waxing because nothing is spread on your skin. It takes a just a few minutes and lasts a couple of weeks.

Contrary to what PP said, waxing and threading DON'T make hair grow back more or thicker. That just doesn't even make sense. Eventually the roots don't re-form as well and you actually get less regrowth... in the mean time, the soft new edge, LOOKs finer than a blunt cut edge. HTH.

Waxing. Only been waxing for 3 yrs. Should have done it a lot sooner!!
Find a cosmetologist you like. It costs a little more than the home kits but I found the home stuff was a waste of money. It didn't work well and it is harder to do on yourself that you think.
Also, after the first 3 or 4 waxings, you will notice the growth rate of your 'stache slows down a lot!
