Right now I am cranky, we have these idiots occupying Market St (are they protesting the post office?), we have the President occupying Washington Ave, and what we in St Louis actually care about, we have a baseball game going on.

I love this quote about occupy Wall Street, "What do we want? Whatever! When do we want it? Whenever!!" At least to the best of my knowledge that is all these people want. They want, something.

What the heck do they want?

Oh I am trying to steer clear of speaking of the Cardinals. Any time I attempt to support them they lose so I am not rooting for the Cards!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Luv ya Theresa. Honestly I get what most political groups want. These guys seem to only want their 15 minutes of fame. But if the Cards don't win I will be forced to start watching football. :p

But Catherine Wall Street is only one small piece of the cause.

Oh my god, what was I thinking!!! Troy texted asking for the score and I optimistically said no score in the 7th!!! So now they are losing!!! :( I know better than that!!

Well Jan you sure have no one's number here but nice try.

I'm pretty sure the people protesting on Wall Street want the criminals there who brought down our economy to be punished, and for some meaningful regulations to be put in place so it doesn't happen again. At least, that's what I want.

ETA: Wall Street received BILLIONS of tax dollars in bailouts, no strings attached. They knowingly packaged subprime loans as AAA-rated, bought off ratings companies for higher ratings, set up Ponzi schemes ripping average people off of their retirement savings, and have continually bought off politicians of both parties to avoid punishment or regulation of any kind. They are the problem.

It is amazing, the serious problems this country is facing- some people finally start a protest movement and others think they're just doing it for attention. I'm guessing you sports fans complaining about protesters have jobs and homes. I hope you continue to be so blessed for many years. I wonder how long it will take you to speak out if you find yourself without?

Ephie posted part of it - let's see if I can find another part I saw elsewhere ... oh, here it is - a list of demands:

Demand one: Restoration of the living wage. This demand can only be met by ending “Freetrade” by re-imposing trade tariffs on all imported goods entering the American market to level the playing field for domestic family farming and domestic manufacturing as most nations that are dumping cheap products onto the American market have radical wage and environmental regulation advantages. Another policy that must be instituted is raise the minimum wage to twenty dollars an hr.

Demand two: Institute a universal single payer healthcare system. To do this all private insurers must be banned from the healthcare market as their only effect on the health of patients is to take money away from doctors, nurses and hospitals preventing them from doing their jobs and hand that money to wall st. investors.

Demand three: Guaranteed living wage income regardless of employment.

Demand four: Free college education.

Demand five: Begin a fast track process to bring the fossil fuel economy to an end while at the same bringing the alternative energy economy up to energy demand.

Demand six: One trillion dollars in infrastructure (Water, Sewer, Rail, Roads and Bridges and Electrical Grid) spending now.

Demand seven: One trillion dollars in ecological restoration planting forests, reestablishing wetlands and the natural flow of river systems and decommissioning of all of America’s nuclear power plants.

Demand eight: Racial and gender equal rights amendment.

Demand nine: Open borders migration. anyone can travel anywhere to work and live.

Demand ten: Bring American elections up to international standards of a paper ballot precinct counted and recounted in front of an independent and party observers system.

Demand eleven: Immediate across the board debt forgiveness for all. Debt forgiveness of sovereign debt, commercial loans, home mortgages, home equity loans, credit card debt, student loans and personal loans now! All debt must be stricken from the “Books.” World Bank Loans to all Nations, Bank to Bank Debt and all Bonds and Margin Call Debt in the stock market including all Derivatives or Credit Default Swaps, all 65 trillion dollars of them must also be stricken from the “Books.” And I don’t mean debt that is in default, I mean all debt on the entire planet period.

Demand twelve: Outlaw all credit reporting agencies.

Demand thirteen: Allow all workers to sign a ballot at any time during a union organizing campaign or at any time that represents their yeah or nay to having a union represent them in collective bargaining or to form a union.

(IMO somebody sure isn't thinking things thru ...)

I am starting an Occupy 99.

So you no longer have to hear me fight on here.

My movement is because I like so many other people feel we have been screwed.

By who they keep asking?? We dont know...It is bigger then we are.

Everyone here knows my story..What I have fought for.

No one understands getting denied care.

No one gets not being able to remove your self from your situation.

My signs read as follow...''My Special interests are 6,4 and 3....I fight for what they believe is right''..My other one is''Our voices loud, our message clear Corporate greed is not welcome here''.

I was denied covergae for something that should not have been denied. I was turned away from the mental health facility because they refused to bill third party.

I am angry.

We have no voice sitting at home yelling at our computer scream about the wrong that is being set here.

I am taking my voice to my community.

We will be holding Occupy 99 starting the beginning of next week. I did this. So you can not say that I am sitting here all talk. I have been on the phone with my city making sure the Protest does not take up more then the street corners.

This is the revolution and they will not be capturing it on TV.

I realized I had to go be me..and Fight in Person.

So you may think that the Occupy Wall Street is just a bunch of people who lack ideals and motive. but in those crowds of people you will find Men, Women....Everyday people with a story as to why they are standing. You just have to be willing to listen and understand we all are not lucky enough to live in a bubble. We all are not lucky enough to know what a vacation feels like.

I have been an American my whole life. I Love my country. But I refuse to let the people put in charge to run things...take us into the ground.

funny I am not a Left winger being bused in from anywhere. I am choosing to stand. In my community I could be going to Seattle or Tacoma and leaving it at that. I will go to the Protest in Tacoma Friday and take what I learn from there and take it back to where I live.

We are out in packs in every community.

We have good reason. And we are not stopping now.

I am standing for my own things...Yes the 99'ers have their list of demands but that does not fall on everyone Protesting.

Yep.
We're too well entertained to get up and riot in the streets.
If the beer and sports ever come to a stop, expect a revolution.
That's why there's a major sport season of one sort or another year round.
It's a pacifier.

Wow, after reading their demands (thanks Deb!), all I can say is foolishness. It's too bad that all this effort is being wasted on this rather. Imagine what this many people could do if they were working toward realistic goals.

The protestors? they just want their voices heard and their 15 minutes of fame...so they can say I TRIED TO CHANGE IT!! I gave my voice...

Let the people get tee'd at Obama...maybe this is something they will remember when they go to vote in 2012...and all the other stuff too!!! You know - the $TRILLION deficit, the additional war, the broken campaign promises...maybe they will remember these things too!!!
