Uh, 16 . . . what a special age for you and your daughter. As a Youth Minister for 12 years, 16 was easily one of my favorite ages!!
I'm a local photographer (Cottage Grove, MN-is that near you?) and would love to connect with you! I’d be thrilled for you to see my work, which will take a bit more coordinating on our part (maybe email me your address - I could mail you samples). I have a website, but it’s brand new and we only have Wine Journals on it so far which isn’t much help to you!!

I am more than happy to share my pricing system ~ for $100 I come to your home or gathering, shoot for an hour and burn you the images on to a DVD. If we have access to your computer we can just download them. You will receive apx 350-650 images that are yours to edit, print, enlarge, whatever you desire!

I may have a different philosophy than you are used to. I believe you come to me for two reasons = I have a great eye and great equipment. That’s what you should be paying for. This is backwards to most = you will pay a smaller fee for photography and an absolute ton for reprints and enlargements (which in my opinion you can make yourself, and I will give you that option).

I am not your “normal" photographer. I do not have a studio with lots of different color backdrops or lights. I specialize in natural light photography = a window and a black backdrop. We will shoot formal, posed pictures, but we will also shoot photojournalism (laughing, walking, thinking, talking) just being natural ~ especially if there are friends around. You will receive all of the photos we take, I do not edit because you should be the one to decide which photos are the ”best.” I do not “touch up”/ air brush. Feel free to take the Negatives / DVD and do so yourself, I will not copy write them.

I could write so much more, but I'm a little embarrassed at how long this already is. I am just very passionate about it. I hope I have given you enough information to help you decide if I am someone you'd like to contact.

I recommend Russ Goos at goosphotography.com. He did a family reunion for us and his sitting fee includes a proof book, plus a cd with all of the picture on it that you own the rights to, so you can get inexpensive prints made anywhere you want or order prints through him. I have a friend who used him for a portrait sitting for their daughter and they were very happy.

Try karen feder photograhy.com She does awesome picture and I think reasonable.

I don't know how her prices compare, but Raquel Strand is excellent, and she knows how to photograph kids/teens. She has a studio, but I know she does weddings, too, so I'm sure she'd be willing to come out for your Quince Anos. Her website is http://www.legacystudiosmn.com/

15!!! How special!!! She is becoming a young lady. Believe it or not: I have found that the portrait studio at Target is great! They are owned by Lifetouch (school pictures and Flash! photography at malls). She can do her own creative stuff with poses and clothing and/or props (fan? flowers?).
