Sometimes I wish they never heard or learned the word "No!" And I think we both know (no pun intended) that this is just a phase you have to get through. I'm glad your little boy is talking! I know what you're saying...sometimes it gets so tiresome hearing "mommy! mommy! mommy!" but man, it sure is nice to be mommy!

Hahaha make a game of it... Sing to him no-no-no, yes-yes-yes, please, please, please. Thank you, thank you, thank you.... and do cute movements with your hands and eyes he will soon adapt this and follow suit.. and it can be your own little song, plus teach him good manners.. see this video from you tube.. it will make you smile :-)

tehehe, I LOVE your post! I worked for a couple of years in a classroom with 3-6 yr old non verbal signers. They talked back just as much as the ones who use their words!

NO! (which is the worst since it's almost like shaking a fist!)
STOP!
WAIT!

I LOOOVE you THERESA! (Well, T, anyway)

I'm so pleased he is communicating better!

:)

(How's the potty going? And will he be starting his special school soon?)

My granddaughter did this repeatedly one day. I finally stopped, looked her in the eye, and said "Do not say no to Grandma. You can say it better like "Thank you, but I'd rather not" but mostly, you should say "Yes, ma'am." Well, it worked for the day. And yes, we do have a very loving relationship. It didn't stop her from saying no to her parents but now she's on a "Mommie..." kick. Parents today grin and bear it. My decade was one of parent survival. We would have said,"Enough with calling out Mommie everytime you speak honey. Just ask me the question. Or, "I just need some quiet time dear. Please read for awhile."

now its time to confuse him, he says no, you say no, try to prompt a yes... and follow with a no, back and forth, to mess each other up.. a silly game I loved to play with my kids..
