lately my 2 year old has been asking for her finger nails to be painted like mommy's. however, she still sometimes puts her fingers in her mouth especially lately because i think her 2 yr old molars are starting to come in. so, i do not want to put nail polish that could be harmful. does anyone know of any safe non-toxic nail polish that is good for toddlers? my daughter may just be out of luck..... lol :)

I use "CHI" nailpolish that I get from may hair salon. Great colors fors children and adults. My daughter loves to have her nails the same color as mine.
Enjoy!

I paint my 11 month old daughter's toenails with Piggy Paint. It is non-toxic. It's more expensive, but worth it, in my opinion.
You can find it at www.piggypaint.com

We also purchase their Nail Polish Remover.

I'm afraid I'm old fashioned on this one. If your daughter asked to drive, would you hand her the keys?

I would tell your daughter that when she is old enough and mature enough you will show her the proper way to wear and display "powder and paint." If she is still sticking her hands in her mouth to suck her fingers, she's obviously not old enough to have toxic chemicals on her hands.

Good luck to you and yours.

In addition to the kid formulas, there are water based, peel-off adult versions as well. I got mine online (there are various companies), but I think Whole Foods carries it now too.

I got piggy paint. Look around, there are some great %s off codes. Good way to try it. My daughter loves it. It's not thick enough and doesn't last long enough for my nails, but since it doesn't matter if her's chip, it works for her.

You could just pretend paint her nails with water or something. Otherwise, the only less toxic alternative nail polish I have seen is from melaleuca. Message me and I'll hook you up!

I see somebody already posted it, but I'll post it again. www.piggypaint.com
They have several fun colors to choose from, even a glow in the dark one. Yes, it's a tad pricey, but you can buy the packages and get them slightly cheaper.
