I used it for a while but found that it didn't work for my pre-teen. He wanted a movie NOW, not when it came in the mail. It's a great service for adults, who have more patience.
Anyone use this service and how do you like it?

I use it and absolutely love it. We have one of the cheaper plans. Its $8.99 per month. With this plan we get one movie at a time, but as many as we like per month. This does well for us because we only realistically have time to watch one movie per week. As far as the service I've been very pleased. Its literally overnight. I watch the movie on the weekend, then mail it back on Monday. They receive it Tuesday and I get a new movie on Wednesday. I've also have a few movies stolen from my office mailbox. I just reported it stolen and then sent me a new movie. They don't charge for every lost/missing movie. They just monitor patterns to see if the same people "loose" movies. I definitely recommend Netflix.
We like it for the most part, but occasionally you get a defective or scratched disc, which is disappointing in the middle of a movie, but all in all, we enjoy it.

I have tried NetFlix, and I liked it. The problem was - some months, we would really use it; but other months it was a complete waste of money.
Do you watch enough movies to justify it? If so, it is SO worth it!
I just saw this in Women's World... if you go to www.redbox.com/help/signup.aspx, you will get texted a code every Monday and you can go to those red movie boxes and get a free movie! WHOO HOO!
We use Netflix and love it! The only problem I've had in the past is just damaged dvds when they arrive but that's not too often. If the dvd is damaged, just go online and report it and they'll send you a replacement right away. I love not having to drive anywhere to get my movies, they just arrive in my mailbox and I send them out the same way.
Mimi
I love it a ton! I really got into it when we lived out in the country because I didn't want to drive all the way into town just to return a movie. But, the thing I really like is that they have a HUGE selection and you can think about it when you have a movie on your mind, and put it in your queue, rather than standing in front of a giant wall of movies and saying, "HMMM What do I want to watch?" And, my kids are currently watching the first season of the Muppet Show and I'm loving it too! Tons of kids movies are awesome because lots of times the "free" movies at the video store or the library for kids are totally scratched up and impossible to watch.
I have never had a problem with Netflix and I've been with them 3 years. I have sent back scratched or cracked DVD's (that I did not damage) and I was never questioned about it. They just send a replacement immediately.
Try it!
We have used Netflix for years. I like the two at a time unlimited. We keep a lot of movies in our queue. We love it and our kids are always watching the mail for the red envelope for our next movie.
I give it a big thumbs up.
We are some of the longest users of Netflix at about 10 years and going. We have loved it the whole time! We "suspended" our account for a time because money was so tight, but after 6 months we picked it up again. Suspending keeps all your account info and movies in que and all, you just don't pay for it or get movies sent.
WE LOVE NETFLIX!! We have a que for me, one for the family and one for my husband. So, we all get to see movies or TV shows that we like. Yes, I said TV Shows. My husband is watching the original Star Trek. Anyway. It's worked for us for several years now. I really loved it when we were potting training our daughter. You just can't stop a movie theater the same way. Plus, I can watch in my PJ's.
I get my DVDs from the public library for FREE!~:)
I love it. I have had it for years and even watch instant movies on my computer.
Netflix is awesome because you can also watch movies on your computer and we love it.
Love it. Used the service for about 8 years now.
We use it and like it. Love the fact that you can watch instantly either on tv or computer as well as in mail if you choose that plan and there is no late fees. Comes fairly quick too. Worth the money. I see you have daughter my age too :o) Just want to share something that she may be interested in. Check it out.

Interested? Message me. I personally love it and my daughter who is 13 is anxiously awaiting her period lol to try it out as well.
I use netflix, and I love it! I don't have to worry about getting it back on time and I save money on late fees. I love knowing what is coming and when to expect it, all from the convenience of my computer!
I have been a member of both Netflix and Blockbuster Online. Blockbuster online has now changed its rules and it is no different then Netflix except that you can still rent in store but you don't get anything new from your queue until the in-store rentals have been turned in. If you are not concerned with renting in a store than I would go with Netflix. I did find them to be better organized and faster then Blockbuster.
Love it. Have been members for about 4 years. Signed my dad up two years ago and he loves it. However, I would also research BlockBuster On-line because you can rent on-line or in the stores. We have had lots of luck with Netflix, though. We are on the two at a time plan, which is about $15 per month.
I really like this service. I like it because I don't have to go to a store to get it or return it, plus we can keep the movie until it is convenient for us to watch, without any late fees. The turn around time is fast, meaning if I put the movie in the mail back to Netflix on a Monday, I can have another movie to watch by that Wednesday or Thursday. Also, I never know what movies to rent, and Netflix makes suggestions & shows what others rate the movie. It helps in our selection. I really am glad we pay for this service. You can try it for free for 2 weeks and if you don't like it you can cancel it. That was my intention at first, but we liked it so much we've kept it for 5 months now. We pay $11.79 a month, because we get blu-rays.
R.,
I love Netflix as well. If I know I have time to watch movies. When I was advidly doing it I was on the 3 DVD plan and I got about 6-9 a week times 4 weeks you do the math for $16 which was great but lately I haven't had that much time. They do always have the movies I want and so on. I have been with them almost 5 years and I did not care for blockbuster which I tried online.
But now since my time is crazy booked I do Redbox for a $1 a movie but search free redbox codes online. So far I haven't paid for a movie in a while probably the last 20 movies. Becuase there are free codes every monday some wednesdays plus other codes all the time. And you can used each code for each card you have (debit, credit, yours your hubbies etc....) So I work it...

I use netflix and I love it.
Our family LOVES it and we would highly recommend it!
My husband and I LOVE netflix! Very convenient and you receive your selections within a day or two. You can watch as many movies as you want during the month; you just have to remember to mail them back.
Love it. Good deal if you actually watch alot of movies and put them right into the mail. I've always received mine within 2-3 days. I use the online movie watching feature for my 4 yr old--he can watch Thomas and Bob the Builder, along with kid movies, etc.
I would start out with just receiving a few movies at a time for the lower price and see how often you turn them around. They are very easy to deal with. I've had a few movies get "lost" in the mail while en route back to them and they never hassled me about it. They just credited my account and sent the next one on my list. Also, it's nice to "save" a new release, so you are in line to receive it when it does come out.
I would recommend Blockbuster.com - it is the same thing as Netflix for about the same price BUT you can turn your videos in at the video store if you want and pick out an extra movie (they still mail you the next one on your list too). That way, if there is a particular movie you want to see that nigth, you can pick exactly which movie you want when you want it, you don't have to wait for it to be mailed to you or hope that the one you want is next on your list and available at that time.
We love it. We also have an XBOX 360 and can download certain movies to watch immediately without going to the store(Blockbuster) and still receive the next one on the list. You can download and watch as many as they have. Even more convenient then Blockbuster because you can do it all from your home.
another public library user! i haven't paid a rental fee for a movie in years!
We've been using Netflix for 6 or 7 years and never had a problem. We've had a couple of DVDs arrive damaged, but we reported it as soon as we realized it and they immediately sent a replacement. When we turn in a movie, we usually have the next one in our queue within 2 days. I've never tried Blockbuster's online service because I used to be a store manager at Blockbuster, and I wasn't really fond of their in-store customer service policies. (Those may have changed now, but we're very happy with Netflix.)
Love it, love it, love it. My husband and I each have our own queue and you can even watch things online, which is what I did for two weeks when I went on maternity leave before my daughter was born. You get your next selection quickly and if you have any problems, such as damaged disk which is rare, it is very easy to talk to them via their site.
We love it. It's such an affordable from of entertainment, shipping is fast...and we can acutally look forward to going to the mail box!
Redbox is good, however, you need to make sure you return it.... I know $1 a day is nothing but if you're like me where it could take me a week or so to get over there it adds up.... Netflix is awesome... flat rate per month and even when we lived out in the sticks it was 2 day turnaround...
We love it. I get the 3 at a time so that both of my kids can have a new movie and Dad and I get to watch one too. I love that there are no late fees and we can watch movies on the computer too. The on-line selection is not that great but mostly for the kids. If you are currenty renting from an outside source, I would highly recommending the switch, it is way more conveient.
I used it when it first came out and they kept raising their prices and it seemed they did not have a wide variety of the new releases but a wider variety of the classics, I prefer the Redbox DVD rental at Wal-mart. You can reserve online and go pick it up and every Monday you can rent one DVD for free by using a code they send by email or text. All movies rent for $1.07 and you don't get charged a late fee (same as a second day rental or $1.07) unless you don't return the movie within 24 hours.
My husband liked Netflix really well. BUT~He changed to Blockbuster online because they have more options, such as... as soon as Netflix recieves a movie in the mail, they will mail out your next movie, but with Blockbuster you can return your movie to any Bb store and your next movie will be in the mail to you as soon as the store gets it, getting you the movie a couple days sooner...also, they offer a free instore rental with per month. Hope this helps!
I used it but prefer blockbuster.com because you can use it in conjunction with Blockbuster stores.
We have been with Netflix for about 8 years. We tried Blockbuster but was never satisfied so we went back to Netflix. I love the fact that I can watch a movie on Friday night put in the mail Saturday morning and have a new one by Monday or Tuesday. We have kept movies for a month and we get no complaints to return it. My kids like to watch some movies alot like Bolt and we kept it for a couple of week and they watched in the car when we had errands to do. I have been very happy with them and they have great customer service. We have had several DVDs not work right because of scratches and we return them and get a new one quickly without being charged. We have enjoyed our time with Netflix.
I used Netflix and liked it. But I will give you some problems with it... you can't just get what you want that day, you have to order them and wait for shipping; you have to set up a movie queue so that when you sent movies back, they will know what to send you and I wasn't good about keeping that up.
I have started using Redbox and LOVE it! I live in Keller and there are 5 within 2 miles of my house. Every WalMart & Walgreens are supposed to have them. I have also found them at Albertson's and 7-11. There are several nice things about Redbox... all movies are $1.08 (inc tax) per day. When you get a movie, it is due the following day at 9 PM AND you can return a movie to any Redbox... it doesn't have to be returned to the same Redbox you got it out of. They are very current on their movies -- new releases, etc. The boxes are easy to use.
Now, what I think is the best thing... you can set up an account online and pick your movie/s there. When you go to the Redbox, all you have to do is run your credit card and it will kick out your movie!
I enjoy my netflix. I pay for having one out at a time for $8. One out at a time right now is perfect for us. They are quick in sending the movies. I send my movie back and within 2 business days I get a new one. I havent had any complaints about them yet. Go to their website and check it out, before signing up.
I have used Netflix for over 3 years, and love it. There have been a few times that we have received scratched movies that skipped or wouldn't play. But overall, it is awesome. We love getting movies delivered right to the door. I can always get movies on the Tuesday that a new movie comes out too. Good luck!
I love Netflix - it's nice to go get the mail and find your movie in it! Also, I appreciate the feature on the website that recommends movies based on others you like. And I love not having late fees. I only do one movie at a time right now but I may change to two. I usually takes two days turnaround - i.e. put the movie in the mail on Monday have a new movie by Wednesday. I think it is great.
Hello R.,BlockBuster has a better deal.Check them out
absolutely LOVE it! We have been using this service for about 7 years. Right now we only get one movie at a time and can view movies "on-line" anything we want as many times as we want. I use the on-line movies as a special treat for my 5 year old and some of the educational movies as a supplement to our home school enrichment.
I love Netflix. I used to frequent Blockbuster multiple times throughout the month so Netflix has become a great money saver. I currently do 2-at-a-time and would recommend the unlimited plan. While waiting for your movies to arrive, there are 10,000 movies and tv shows you can watch instantly by streaming online for no additional charge. It's worth it if you watch a lot of movies.
it is great! U can even watch many movies instantly online. It is worth the $9 we pay each month just for the online access!!
Loved it !!Never had a scratched movie never had the wrong movie delivered.great service with no late fees cant beat it!!
I also recommend it. Always had what I wanted and received it fast. Have you heard of hulu.com? It has a lot of recent shows and movies free. It show a very small amount of commercials.
L.
It's great. They have an enormous selection and the turnaround time is about 2 days.

I have it, have been a member for 4 years and would hate to give it up. If there's ever a problem with a cracked DVD or unplayable one you report it and they send a replacement ASAP, you usually see it the next day. I've never had problems with them. It eliminates the headache of going to Blockbuster and finding out they don't have the movie you really wanted. If there's one that's on high demand it will let you know it's delayed and send you the next one on your list, at least then you're not without a movie. We do the 2 at a time, that way there's usually one on the way as we're returning another. I also love the fact that you can keep the disc for as long as you want - my son is 3 and gets in those cycles of watching the same thing over and over and over so we aren't committed to returning it within 72 hours.
