Are you planning on kids being present? If so, they can be your "Official Judges" for a few activities. 3 that I have done at showers that were great for men and women are as follow:
Each person is given a piece of Hubba Bubba gum. (UNCHEWED) they shape the gum into a "baby". The best baby wins!
Each person is handed one sheet of heavy paper (like construction paper). Instcur them to put the paper behind their back and tear iinto the shape of a baby. Again- best baby wins.
Each person is given a paper plate and a pencil. Instruct them to place the plate on top of their head and draw a baby. Can you guess who wins?? LOL
Other Ideas:
Men vs. Women "get the baby ready" relay. You can either use a doll for each team and have each person undress, rediaper, dress and buckle in car seat or ...
(THE ONE THAT IS HALLARIUS TO VIDEO TAPE) Each team chooses a "baby" FROM their team. The baby gets a clean "diaper" (large piece of white cloth) pinned over cloths, is fed a bottle (juice or water are safest considering possible allergies), is fed a jar of baby food with a baby spoon (Go gross for the boys, like spinach or green beans, and sweet like apple sauce or banana for the girls! LOL Or you could be nice and both teams get apple sauce.) and last but not least, is "swaddled and put to sleep (Cal king sheet). The men are hystrical to watch! Though, the women are pretty funny too. You and your guest will be laughing so hard that all you pg ladies will need to be wearing pads- JUST IN CASE! lol
You can have each lady write 5 things that "only my husband knows...." and test the men to see if they get it right.Give them each a set of index card with all the ladies names written down. Have one lady read each answer (the same lady for the whole game) and have the hubbies hold up which one they believe said it. Hubbies score 1 pt for each right answer, 2 points if it's their own wife, and 2 EXTRA points if they are the only one to get it right.
You could also play non-baby games like Taboo or catch phase. Making it a pot-luck will take presure off the "What's the menu" part. Perhaps even a "Bring your own meat" BBQ. Everybody brings the meat they want to cook and a side to share.
Have fun!
