Oops... I forgot to tell you it is a couples bridal shower. Any suggestions?

I am hosting a couples shower this weekend and wanted to see if anyone had suggestions on games that guys would like to participate in as well. Trying to see how to keep the guys entertained during a noon time shower. HELP????

What can I do next?

The bottle game is always a hit at couples showere. The baby food game... LOVE IT! I also had a suggestion not menioned. You ribbon the left hand of one member of the couple and thre right hand of the other member of the couple together. Then they both only have one hand left and they have to change the diaper on the doll or stuffed animal. The key to getting the men to play the games is good prizes. Start out with a prize for the first man to show up, like a coozie and a six pack. You were the first guest. Then the other guys will want to play to earn the prizes.

Good Luck and Enjoy!

Hi A.. I can tell you what my husband would say, "Forget playing games - just let me watch the game." As in football. There are college games on all day Saturday and the pros play on Sunday. Not to hinder your male involvement, but truly, I wouldn't expect much. And, they'd be happier bonding over football and snacks. :)

Hi A.,

I've seen showers where couples were asked to bring a picture of them when they were babies. The game was to guess who was who. Some people make the guest who guess it wrong for 2 or 3 times to drink shots or another drink.
Good luck and I hope the party is a success!

The only game I remember from a couples baby shower is you get some cheap baby bottles and fill them with soda and there are teams. One person drinks the soda out of the bottle and then the other has to burp them whoever burps first wins. You could use sippy cups or even regular cups if you think that your guests wouldn’t drink out of a bottle.

I went to one co-ed baby shower and here is the one game I remember. It was kind of like a baby relay race. There were 3 stations, and one person had to run up to the table, put a diaper on the teddy bear, then run back and tag the next person in line... the next person had to ... I think dress the teddy bear (or baby doll) completely (there was a big bin of different baby clothes, shirts, socks, onsies, shorts, etc)... then had to run back and tag the next person... then the 3rd station was drinking juice out of the bottle (lol) - believe it or not, some of the guys had a BLAST trying to suck the juice out of the bottle the fastest. ha-ha. and it was pretty funny to watch. You could change up the activities, add more stations, etc... whatever works for you. Then of course, the team who finishes all the stations first wins. They did it outside and that worked out well.

Hi, I went to a couples shower once and they had several games that were fine. One was a baby food taste test - the ladies throwing the shower walked around with little containers of baby food and we all to taste them and guess what flavor. Word of advice - if you do this game stick to fruits and veggies (baby food meat is repulsive). There was also a game for the mom and dad that was a race. They were blindfolded, then given a doll. They had to undress the doll, change the diaper, and redress the doll (all while blindfolded - to simulate those late night changes). Whoever won was committed to nighttime diapering for the first week/month! Good luck and have fun!

Probably this is not much help, but generally guys don't "do" games... Maybe you could have them to do predictions for the football stats for whatever game is on during the shower, lol.

Hi A., i've been to plenty of couples showers where the men participate just as much... u just have to make the shower more of a party then a gushing girly get together, like most people tend to think of when they think baby shower. the 2 games we see repeatedly that usually work are the following - the first game we make the guys drink out of baby bottles, but there's a twist. We fill it with rum and coke, or vodka and orange juice, and the first guy to drink the whole bottle wins (small bottles of course.) the other game is where each couple is blindfolded and the guy sits and his girl feeds him a jar of baby food. and not the easy to swallow stuff, but not the super mixed nasty stuff either... just the straight veggies mostly that are just not that palatable to adults. whoever can finish the whole jar wins. make sure the guys are wearing bibs though, between the girls trying to shove baby food in their mouths and the guys trying to swallow it tends to get everywhere just like real babies! Good luck and have fun, i'm throwing one in 3 weeks and i can't wait!

The guys I know would insist on beer, and games such as horseshoe, or that game where you throw a ball through the hole (similar to horseshoes). Basically games that are somewhat active but do not require brain power so that they can socialize at the same time.

You don't say what kind of shower it is. That would make a big difference on suggestion for games.

If it's a baby shower, the race to see who can drain a beer-filled baby bottle the quickest is always fun. Also you can blindfold guests and ask them to correctly identify babyfood flavors. You can also scramble twenty baby-related words, and have the guests compete to unscramble them.
Enjoy!

When they come in the door, have them write down their birthday or anniversary on a slip of paper and toss it into a bowl. The date that comes the closest to the wedding date wins a prize. And then the newlyweds will have the names, birthdays and anniversaries of all their friends if they want to send cards in the future.
You could set up a table with pottery and paints (in the bride and groom's favorite colors) and have the guests paint a piece for them if they want.
Mostly though, guys aren't really into games much. Just have some good food and a bucket of beer and let them be.
A really funny one that some will get into is the toilet paper wedding dress. Teams will pick one "bride" and the rest will make her a wedding dress out of toilet paper with a time limit. The best bride wins. (picked by the real bride)
But just keep it simple. Have fun!

The only games I know my husband would love are video games. We had a "baby Kegger" and that went over well. It was really just a party with a baby theme and a keg. We did the baby bottle beer thing which was fun but honestly the guys don't even want to be there so a game will not make them too happy. Let them just go with the flow and have plenty of beer or sports and you should be fine. The more you push the more they won't like it. Even if you husband likes games most of the men coming won't and you will be forcing them into stuff they don't want to do. Good luck and congratulations!
