I just threw a baby shower this past weekend, are you have a girl or boy? I have some good ideas. When is the shower? I can let you know of some things you can do. Email me if you want more details. ____@____.com
Okay I also need help with my baby shower. It is my first baby, and i have never been to a baby shower. I am throwing the baby shower myself..i know pretty lame. But that doesn't keep me from having one. I want to have the best time ever. What games can you recommend etc.? PLEASE HELP!
I would like to take the time to thank all of you for the grestest help. The baby shower was awsome i received many many gifts. I also had lots of fun, I didn't expect that many people at my baby shower.
Now I need a new advice, a very delicate one. See after that baby shower, my mother in law had to rush home. My father in law had a heart attack, and he was taken to the hospital. My husband was called to go to the hospital, so we went. There he had 3 more, and had to be resuscitated all those times. He was in a coma and then on life support. Finally the next day all the family got together and decided to have the machines turned off. Girls, I need help!! My husband is in a terrible condition. Everything is changing, we just got married, and then we have to move to my mother in law's house. We're newlyweds and we don't even get to enjoy that, our life is ruined I belive. I also think I'm responsible for his death. If it had not been for my baby shower. My mother in law should have been with him that day. I feel terrible. I don't know what to do with my husband, I don't know how to approach him. My baby is due pretty soon, and i've been getting sick cause of so much stress. Any advice would help I would appreciate it. So much for a baby shower memory.

Fill a jar with Jelly Beans and have them guess the amount. My cousin did this and used a giant baby bottle, I don't know where she got it, but it was really cute.
Well first off, congrats. Ok there are a couple of games I can tell you. The first is, You give all of your guests a little ribbon to pin on their shirts. It doesn't have to be anything fancy, and the rules are since MOM can't cross her legs because of her belly no one can for the duration of the shower. If someone cathes someone with thier legs crossed they can take away their ribbon and the one who has the most ribbons by the end of the shower wins. You can give a real prize or something funny like a coupon for them to babysit your child for a month. Another is Stuff your shirt
Award a prize to the person who can fit the most balloons under their shirt (don't blow the balloons up too full for this or you might not get many people fitting more than one).
And then Pregnant belly races
after having guests stuff their shirts, as mentioned above, have them race around the yard while not letting any balloons fall out or Feed the baby
Hilarious game, especially at couples showers. Have one partner be "the baby" and the other partner be the parent. See who can feed an entire jar of baby food, using a small spoon, to their partner the fastest. For added laughs, make the "parent" hold the spoon in their mouth while playing and make them hold their hands behind their backs! You'll want to take pictures of this one! I hope this helps, also I have an idea for a party favor I did for my own shower. YOu buy the all white mint life savers and then you buy a bag of jelly beans. You make some royal icing you can get the recipe from the internet. Use the royal icing to glue together the jelly bean in the center of one of the mints and then glue another mint under the first ring to look like a pacifier. I hope you have fun and good luck with your little one.
Hi R.,
Try www.welcomebaby.com. They have a lot of free downloadable games. I used several for a recent baby shower I threw.
Baby Animal Match: (i.e. Puppy=dog, piglet=pig, Cub=Lion, etc.)
Baby word Scramble
Crossword puzzle
Word Search
Finish the Rhyme
I'll have to look for it but I've purchased cheap bottles, cut a hole in the nipple to put a straw and used them as cups for punch.
I also made a necklace w/ a pacifier and string to play the "baby" word game. Each time someone says "baby", the person that heard them gets to take the necklace. Whomever has the most pacifiers around their neck wins.
Item in the bag: If you know your baby's name then get one small paper sack for each letter. Paint one letter on each bag. In the bag, you will place one baby item that begins or contains that letter. (i.e. baby's name is Brody: B=binky, R=rattle, O=orajel, D=diaper, Y=Mylicon.). The person that names the most correct items wins.
If I think of any others, I'll let you know.
My first baby shower was coed and themed. Entire families came and we had a bbq with a luau theme. The invitation requested everyone dress hawaiian and we passed out lais(sp?). The catch was only the men played the games. We had them drink (beer) from baby bottles, the first to finish won. They had to race to diaper baby dolls. Taste baby food and guess what it was, blindfolded. We also measured the belly and everyone participated. It was a huge hit. Best of luck with the shower and the new baby.
hey R., im sorry you have to give yourself a baby shower but dont let that ruin it for you. its your frist baby and you need a shower! we played baby bingo, which was you put all your gifts on a table so everyone can guess just what you got. they have playing boards at any store that has babyshower stuff. after they put their pieces on thier playng board you start to open the presents and whatever you opened if they have it they put a sticker over it. my friends really like it, thier prizes were Mary Kay products.(my mom sells it) plus we had a jar filled of binkies and you had to gues how many were in there. um.. we played a game where you had to blow a balloon up put it under your shirt and be able to tie your right shoe lace with out the balloon falling out and as fast as you could. I hope these help you out R.. CONGRATS on the baby!! take care, N. batch
hello, here are some fun games:
1. guess your belly size? all guests get a roll of t-paper and have to tear off number of squares they think will match the size of your belly. no one is allowed to do any measuring. one person writes names and how many squares they tore off. at the end some one takes the t-paper and wraps it around your belly and counts the squares the closest guess wins a prize.
2. scoop up the cotton balls with a spoon while blind folded. give each person about 1 minute. this is harder than you think cotton balls are silent and weith nothing.
3. find the safety pins in the rice bowl. must blind fold participants they use their hands. very hard to find safe t pins in rice.
4. cross your legs game. every guest gets a clothes pin attached to them as they arrive. every time someone forgets and crosses their legs people are allowed to approach them and take away their clothes pin or pins depending on how many they are wearing. the one with the most clothes pins is the winner.
5. poopy diaper. all guests as they arrive are given a corsage shaped in the shape of a diaper to wear. only one of those corsages has a spot of mustard if you are the lucky one with the poopy corsage you win a prize. corsages are made with white paper napkins corners folded in and glued in the shape of a diaper.
have fun.
i had my first baby shower last august... it was fun!
we played the clothespin game where everyone gets a clothespin as they walk in and you pick a word that no one can say (we chose "baby") and if someone says it and someone else notices, they can steal their clothespin... at the end the one with the most clothespins gets a gift. we decorated the pins with pink ribbons because i already knew i was having a girl. we did the diaper game... melted different candies(baby R., snickers, nestle crunch, etc) in several diapers and everyone has to guess what the candy is (looks like poopie). we had a baby bottle stuffed with cotton balls, the person who guessed closest to the actual amount of cotton balls in it won a gift. (be sure to have small gifts for all the winners, makes it more fun!) we also did baby food guessing, guests can smell and look at baby food in an unlabeled jar (but not taste!) and write down what they think it is... one with the most correct guesses gets a gift. hope these helped some!!!
Well I think you have enough ideas for your baby shower but I just wanted to say congratulations on your baby, have fun at your baby shower that will turn out just how YOU want it since you are giving it (smart idea:)!!, and enjoy your pregnancy and baby!!
I have planned several and planning one now. Email me at ____@____.com
There are soooo many games you can do at a baby shower. You can buy some baby food jars and have people blindfolded and try to figure out which one is the one they are tasting who ever gets the most wins. You can do a blind folded diaper change on a doll. You can have the women race to drink coke out of a bottle. (this one is fun)Blindfolded, I guess alot of them are blindfolded huh:)you have a women with one bowl on her lap full of cotton balls and then you give her a big kitchen spoon and another bowl she holds on her head and she has to transfer the cotton balls from the bowl on her lap to the bowl on her head. its tough and fun to laugh when they think they have a ton and none are on the spoon. most cotton balls wins. You can do a name game like if the baby's name is Sue Smith. how many other words can you make out of that name. There's a few and I am sure that others will anwser you too so I'll stopp there!:) I hope you have a great shower!
Hi R.,
Contrats on the baby! I plan and cater baby showers and parties in my spare time. Here's a check list you may want to use.
1. Budget
2. Guest list (wemon only or men also)
3. Food (small or meal)
4. Location (home or rent)
5. Games (5 is usually good)
6. Accessories (plates and more)
That is basically the base of everything. Another thing you may want to consider is the type of baby shower you want. Traditional or non. I had a couples baby shower were the men participate in the games as well (they had to drink out of bottles and change a baby's diaper blindfolded), and there's others where you walk in, talk, games, eat and that's it. There's also ones that take place in a pool, park, just a small luncheon or have friends bring over their kids and you just talk.
A couple games I do recommend are measuring your belly with toilet paper, and have each guests guess how many squares it took to go around. Pennies in the bottle: you get a large coke bottle, that will be used as a piggy bank for you baby, and put the penny inbetween the players knees and try to drop it into the bottle. That one is funny to watch grandma do it! Since you will be having to hang up baby clothes, see how many clothes pins guests can hold in their hand and you'll know who you can invite to help with the laundry. Guess the price! Great to play with grandparents and new parents. You make a list of baby products you think you'll buy and everyone guesses the current price and the price when you were a baby. Have a friend go to the store and get the current price, then ask your mom or grandmother if they remember the price back then, as well as the guests. Get online to see if you can find the price back then, if not use grandmas price. Take the clothes pin game a bit further. See how many pices of clothing (just socks, just shirts, or mix) each guest can hang in 2 minutes. Another great game is getting to know you game. You answer questions before the baby shower and see how many each guests can get right. You can ask, where the baby was concieved, what day your birth was on, what time you were born, some baby name suggestions and more. It would be wise to have just 5 questions and have each guests say their guess out loud and have a good time with that.
If you need any other advice let me know!!

R.,
Congrats! I am going to have my 3rd soon. My first baby shower was men and women and my church gave it to me. There was a game we played there. Well, since I was having a girl they made some diapers with mustard in it. Whoever got the diaper with the mustard gave me an extra gift to open. It was really fun.
I think also that baby showers are needing to budget. When is your baby due? Are you having a boy or girl? I am having my 3rd girl...... I am due March 26th.
We have lots of traditional games when we throw showers. One is getting little pieces of felt and making them into tiny diapers to pin on your shirt. You put a little mustard in only one and give them out to guests as they arrive. The one with the "poopie diaper" at the end of the shower wins the prize. We also do the word no one can repeat. We decorate clothes pins with ribbons and tiny baby bottles and the like and give them out to guests as they arrive and tell them the word they can't say. If they hear the word said or they say the word, the one that said it loses their pin to the person that heard it. The person with the most clothes pins at the end of the shower wins. I have two more so bear with me...LOL!. We also do the another type of poopie diapers. You get candy bars and melt them individually in the microwave. You then spread the candy bar in a real diaper and the guests have to guess which candy bar is in the diaper. I normally melt snickers, kitkat, twix, babyruth, and milkyway. The guests can study it, smell it, even taste it if they're brave. It's pretty funny to see their faces when they see it.
Last one, you get two bowls, cotton balls, a spoon, and blindfold. You blindfold the guest, put the bowls in their lap, one full of cotton and the other empty. Give them the spoon and they have 15 seconds to spoon as many cotton balls as they can to the other bowl. They can't feel the weight of the cotton ball and so they don't know if they are really getting cotton balls on the spoon and into the other bowl. Quite comical! Good luck and take care...many bright blessings to you... L.
We are actually throwing my sister a baby shower in two weeks and have been looking for some shower game ideas also. One of the ones that I liked was to write in the invitation for everyone to bring a baby picture of themselves. When they get there someone go in the other room and place them in plastic baggies and write a number on them and the matching name and number on seperate piece of paper. Then everyone guesses who the baby is.If there are alot of people who dont know each other name tags would be good. Its a good way for people to get talking. Also we have always done a poopy diaper game where you melt a different candy bars in diapers and everyone guesses what they are. I hope that helps with some games.Good luck on the shower and your new baby.
R.,
Here are a few baby shower ideas. You can blind fold your guests and have them take turns tasting baby food. The one who gets them all correct or close to it gets a prize.
Also, you can have each guest guess the number of sheets of toilet paper that would equal the circumferece of your tummy.
Their is a bingo baby shower game that is sold at BabiesR Us.
Good luck,
R.

Hi R.!
How fun!! Here are a few sites that have tons of ideas and printable games. We've had the traditional baby shower where only women were invited and games were played. We've had a couple shower, which was really fun. The guys played games, as well. They griped, at first, but once they started playing it was fun watching how competitive they became. As long as they can sneak away and watch some type of game on TV, they'll have a great time. Sam's Club has really great Baby Shower cakes. If you don't have a membership, HEB would be my next choice. I wouldn't go overboard on decorations; maybe a balloon or floral centerpiece for your main table. You can find really cute invitations at Party City. My family is really huge, so we've always made tons of food, but I've also attended showers where sandwiches and tea were served. Two to three hours is perfect for the duration of the party. You can buy your plates, napkins, utensils and cups at the Dollar Tree. They sometimes have shower decorations, as well.
You might want to recruit a friend to help you answer the door, help with games and writing down the names and gifts given to you as you open them. Oh! Don't forget small gifts for the winners of the games! Some people buy baby type gifts but I've always bought something that the winner could take with them, such as a candle or a cute mug. Scented lotions, etc. are great, too.
Have fun!!
D.
If you go to party city they have many of these game and then you can buy them or if you want make them your self.
1. Bingo w/ baby item on the cards
2. The memory game w/ baby items
And some more games
Toliet paper around your belly.
Have a basket full of baby items and show it around,,, then put it away and everyone has to write down how many item that were in the basket.
Clothes pin for two game how many clothese you grab at once and then who evers cross their les or if men are present who say baby.
You have gotten many ideas. Please don't think your are lame for giving yourself and baby a party. You only have your first baby once in a lifetime. Also have disposal camera for guest to take picture for you. Make a baby book for everyone to sign for you and baby.
Have Fun,
L.
I've done alot of baby showers for all of my family and including mine....ok here we go...I usually get 10 items which will be the prizes....and well they usually come from the dollar store...some cups...candles....picture frames...whatever you want....1 prize per game...so you do 10 tames.
1. As soon as people start coming in give them a pacifier to put around their necks....(the pacifier are the plastic ones and tie a pretty ribbon so that it can go around their necks) the game is that they cannot cross their legs at all during the whole baby shower...if someone crosses their legs then the person who saw her can take away their pacifier...the one who has the most at the end of the baby shower...wins a prize...
2. the one that never fails is the measuring of your stomache with toilet paper....pass the toilet paper around and have them take a piece of it and ask them how big they think your belly is....whenever everyone gets their piece have someone measure yourself...and who ever has the same number of toilet paper pieces wins...don't worry if their is a tie pic a number from 1-10 or 20 and go from their...
3. buy a bottle and put m&m's or jelly beans in it....pass it around and have them guess how many there are in the bottle...whoever is closest wins....
4. have a baby food eating contest....this one consists of 4 people...two in each team...one person with their hands behind their backs and the other will be giving her the food...they both have to be blind folded....who ever finishes the baby food first wins....(its a little more funny if the baby food is a vegetable or meat or something)
5. Get a diaper (clean) and melt about 4-5 chocolates and place it in the middle of the diaper...reassure your guests that it is clean and they have to pic the names of the chocolates...they will have to taste it to figure it out...give them 1 piece of paper and a crayon so they can write it on the paper...who ever get closest to the chocolates wins.
6. You can play bingo...the rest of the games....the trick is that they have to say BABY instead of bingo when they win or else it will not be a good win...they sell the cards at any dollar store...or you can make them yourself with word...I have one if you need one....just send me a message....with enough time of course....
I really hope this helps... oh as for the food...I usually give chicken sandwiches with chips and a drink...and don't forget the cake....
good Luck
M.
Hi R.,
My name is M.. One of the games we played at my baby shower was a diaper game....its kinda wierd but it was fun. One of my friends got some dipaers and smeared candy in the diapers....like snickers, hershey, almond joy, milky way. Its all up to you on what kind of candy you would want. Hope this doesn't gross you out. Its sorta like practice. Have a great time. And Congrats on your first.
M.
Hi R. First of all congrats on your baby. Well the games we played at my babyshower were : the toilet paper game where every one cuts a piece of toilet paper to the length that they think how big you are once everyone has their piece they measure it around you and the closet one wins. Also there is a game with clothes pins. Everyone tries to fit as many clothes pins in their hand and who ever can hold the most wins. also a jar with jelly beans who ever guesses the closest amount in the jar wins. another game was we got a doll and everyone had to try to put the diaper on the doll with one hand and you time everyone who ever has the fastest timing wins. well hope this helps you good luck
I can think of a couple games. We played one where you put cotton balls on the floor. You give the player a plate and a wooden spoon and blind fold them. The person that gets the most cotton balls on the plate wins. Then, another one, you put a doll on a table and have a contest to who can put a diaper on the baby the right way while blind folded. Another one is take the labels off baby food jars, make sure you write down what they are and number the jars. Then, you have everyone guess what kind of food is in each one. The last one is get toilet paper and have them guess how many squares would fit around your belly. We had fun playing these and some others but I can't think of what else we played. I hope it goes well for you and you have fun.
Being pregnant, you should try to find some help because it is a big job to throw a shower and you don't want to take on too much! I'm a mom of 4, and just going to my showers wore me out! Traditionally there is cake and punch, decorations, a sign in sheet, mints and nuts, and sometimes games. One that I've seen a lot is getting a big enough piece of toilet paper and see who gets it close enough to fit around your pregnant belly. Another game is using clothes pins. Everyone starts with one. As people hear others say baby they can take their pin. Whoever ends up with the most wins. Then you need prizes for the winners of your games (simple and inexpensive). A real time saver is to already have the envelopes out for thank you notes. Set them on the table as people come in and have them address an envelope to themselves. This will save you time and headaches trying to get addresses to send out your thank you's. Good luck and God bless! Babies are wonderful and every baby deserves a shower.
Well first off congratulations!! I wish you and the little one the best!! One game I had at my baby shower was to get about 2-3 ice trays depending on home many guests you have. Buy some little decoration babies that are about an inch long. They have some at Wal-mart. Put one baby in each area of the ice tray. Fill with water, and freeze them. When serving the drinks let your guests know they have a baby in their cup. First person who's baby is "born" first wins! This is a cute game and everyone loved it! Another alternative to the don't cross your legs game is to use clothes pins(give one to each person as they enter the shower), and then you can turn around and use them for the clothes pin game(whoever can hold the most pins in one hand without using the other hand or dropping any wins). That's just a thought to save money on supplies you'll use that day only. Good luck. I hope everything goes well!!
