My boy just turned three and I want to get him in to see a dentist. I'm looking for one who is more geared toward children so it's not so cold and sterile. Thanks for any recommendations...

What can I do next?

Dr. Jerry Smith and Dr. Sarah Fox are in practice together, and are wonderful. They are both pediatric dentists and the entire office is geared toward children. You and your son will both love it there. My three year old son has gone back by himself the last three times to get his teeth cleaned, which we think is great. All three of our kids are so comfortable with the assistants, and Drs. Smith and Fox. Also, they have a very special friend at this office....The Tooth Fairy. It's so neat. Her name is Sparkle, and she is visiting my daughters school on the 22nd for dental health month.....we are so excited :)

They are located in the Kelly Building....close to Saint Francis.

Good luck
PS...We live in Owasso, it's worth the drive.

Dear S. Z.--Get thee to a pediatric dentist as he is a specialist in early childhood dental needs. By so doing our son, who is now 27 and lives in Chicago, got started on orthdontic work early when is helped him overcome a bad overbite and crossbite making it easier for him to chew. Good for you in being a full time Mom. I was 39 when I had my som and able to not have to work as I had had to do with my daughter who was 18 years older tham her half brother. Consequently I enjoyed him childhood to the hilt and her has always been a J..

In Owasso there is Dr. Lim who is on 129th and 86th street. He is great with children. In tulsa there is Dr. Black who is on Yale and 31st. He is a fantastic dentist. My children love him as do we.

Hi S.,

I take my boys to a great pediatric dentist in Tulsa. His name is Mark Morrow. Phone number is ###-###-####. His office is at 31st and Yale. My oldest son is 11 and has been going there since he was 3. He loves going to the dentist. My 4 year old was a much harder sell. It took us 3 times before he would let the dentist look at his teeth or the hygenist clean them. Finally, last trip--success! Now he can't wait to go back. Dr. Morrow now has 2 other dentists in his office. We have seen them all and are very happy with all of them. We live between Owasso and Claremore and it is worth the drive. Good luck.

Hi S.,
I go to Dr. Bratton in Owasso (behind the library off of Main St.). He has been great with my daughter who is 4. They wanted me to schedule an appointment time when she could come with me so she could get used to everything. The staff is great with kids. She watched twice (at 2 1/2 and 3), and they would "count her teeth" in the chair. The second time she let the dentist look in her mouth and touch her teeth with the instruments. He then told me he thought she was ready. So, when I went again (she was almost 4), they scheduled an appt. for both of us. They told me they would not keep going with anything if she got upset, because they don't want small children having bad dentist experiences. She LOVES going to the dentist. I hope you find one you are happy with!

I just took my 4 yr old to Dr. Jeffrey Ahlert in Owasso. VERY kid friendly, very nice office, kid stuff everywhere. I was very impressed, and had no problems at all.

Both of my children have used Dr. Drake in Owasso since they have been old enough to go to the dentist. He isn't directly geared toward children but I have not had any problems, my kids are now in their mid-late teens. The office is very nice with TV's in each exam room. I don't know your circumstances but if I remember correctly I was told that my children didn't need to be seen until around four. (could be wrong)
