Okay here is my problem I have a stain on my wedding dress...but I haven't had my wedding yet!! It is on July 7. *YEAH* It is a small spot, but I know it's there so I will worry. It is grease, like grease from a car grease! (It's a long story) but any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

What can I do next?

If you try different things and it don't work find some flowers or pearls or some kind of wedding piece and apply some add on's to your dress to cover the spot(s) i have a friend in the wedding dress biz her # ###-###-#### (chaz bridal)

I'm sorry about your dress. I am a photographer and one of my brides husbands had touched her dress and left a black mark from touching a candle. she got most of it off (if not all of it) with those "on the go" pens I beleve it was tide(they ran to the store)

if you can not remove it, you can at least have your photographer edit it out from your photos. ask your photographer about it.

hope all goes well. congratulations on your big day

in all honesty, call a cleaner (one that specializes in formal dresses) and get their opinion, I would be the same way and you never know if it will show up in pics. To be on the safe side DO NOT ATTEMPT TO REMOVE IT YOURSELF, the last thing you want to do is smear it or mave it bigger -- GET PROFESSIONAL HELP ASAP!

I did a quick search online and this is what I came across:

If the stain is grease, lipstick, or another cosmetic that is not water soluble, you can try using a handi-wipe on polyester(test it on an inside seam first to be sure it will not disturb the color of your gown) but NEVER on silk! On silk it is probably safer to camouflage spots with something white and relatively harmless such as baking soda, cornstarch, or baby powder. White-out or white shoe polish is tricky and is definitely NOT a good idea for use on silk.

Not sure if this helps, but I hope your big day goes well! :)

My suggestion is to take it to a reputable dry cleaner. It may cost you more than you'd like, but they should be able to get the stain out, and your dress will be as good as new. Much better than doing something to it to make it worse, or irreversible. Good luck.

I've been told to use Dawn, Lestoil, ammonia, and lighter fluid. Not all together, though... just one. And then launder. But seeing as it's a delicate dress you'd have to spot treat and spot wash, I assume. My stepmom uses that grease hand cleanser that mechanics often use for their hands on my dad's clothes.

Good luck!!
