Need a Creative Idea for a Gift

I am planning on giving my kids tickets to some area attractions (Crayola Factory and Port Discovery) this year for Christmas. I was planning to buy tickets online, however I found that one of them (Port Discovery I think) expire within 30 days of purchase. So I was trying to think of a creative way to wrap something up for them to open rather than just a plain old piece of paper. They are 3 and 5 and will love going to these places but won't understand or be excited about the paper ticket. I want it to be something a little more exciting. I tried downloading brochures from the websites, but they come out in pages and are not really what I was looking for either. Anyone have any good/creative ideas? Thanks in advance!! Happy Thanksgiving!

What can I do next?

I would also give them something to go along with the tickets thats related.

For crayola factory, a box of crayons, markers and such.

For Port Discovery...what looks like a children's museum. Maybe some type of science or craft kit. For the youngest it could be something really simple...maybe even some kitchen food from a farm or something of that sort.

Also might be fun to incorporate a special outfit they can wear at these places, if you wanted to go to that length.

The tickets sound like a great idea by the way!

Does your 5yo like treasure hunts? A pringles can partially filled with beans and a rolled up map to places around the house to collect "clues for a trip".

Toddlers also tend to love shaking pringles cans filled with beans. For hours.

hi
they are those over-sized crayola banks you can buy... you could put the tkts in those... they are really cute.. then use as a bank afterward.

Is there a famous character or a puzzle or coloring book from these attractions? You could get those and give those to the children if they would recognize the connection. Example--a set of Mickey Mouse ears or a Magic Kingdom puzzle could help create some excitement about a trip to WDW. My friend made matching shirts for her kiddos with photos she printed and then scanned from an attraction's website. And then they wore their shirts to the park.

Put the tickets in a gift card tin and then wrap it. Put the tin in a small box and wrap it, put the small box into a bigger box and wrap, put that box into a bigger box and wrap it. Keep adding boxes and wrapping them. It should be great fun to unwrap box after box and the final excitement of finally getting to the gift. Then maybe you could show them on the computer where the tickets are for. Often the website has games or other fun interactive things for kids to help get them excited about going.

If you have a computer. Make it into a little treasure hunt you can help them with. Questions they can answer for more clues that lead them to the cards wrapped and hidden by the computer. Have the sites up on the computer and let them look at what all you can do at these places and much fun it will be. Just an idea.....

Why don't you see if you can find a couple of items that are geared towards the places they are going to go? Perhaps some Crayola art supplies for the Crayola factory. I don't know what Port Discovery is, but do the same with that particular place. It will be like little clues as to what they get to do in the future.

The three-year-old isn't going to get the concept of "tickets for a later event" at all, so focus on the older child.

The idea of a treasure hunt is great! You could also buy a disposable camera and other "items" they will need for the adventure (sunscreen, new socks/sneakers, outfit, hat, depending on the time of year) and wrap those up. Also include a calendar and mark the dates of the trips so that they can "count down" the days! When your child asks about the strange combo, break the exciting news!
