I try so hard to limit him and he gets soo upset and cries he loves his fruit!! but the rash he gets is insane. at first I thought yeast rash but it don't resemble that but watching his diet more closely it is always with fruit can he be allergic to all fruits?

My daughter used to get it like that from fruit too. She loved fruit and ate so much of it. You may have to limit it, especially if it's bad. B is right, that it's about acid. I doubt it's about an allergy, but you should probably mention it to the pediatrician. I loved Beaudraux's Butt Paste. It smells good and it's nice and thick! Sometimes I would apply that and Aquaphor over it if it was really bad. Also, when diaper rash is bad it's also really good to allow him to be without a diaper for a bit. I know that's kind of scary but it does help a ton! If you do it right after diaper change it usually works out and even 10-15 minutes helps.

I would definitely keep a log and really limit what fruits he has, and make note of when it's worse (from which foods). Thing is, at this point, once they have a diaper rash, it's so easy for it to come back from just being irratated - it doesn't take much at all for some children. What are his stools like? I would suspect (however, you should check this with his pediatrician) that his stools would be looser if he was allergic, etc. One of my children would get a bit of a red rash/redness around his mouth when eating certain fruits. He did outgrow this.

You may simply be overdoing it on the fruits - so I would just scale back for now and see if you notice a difference.

Oh - just saw you're doing fruit juice. That's a common thing that can lead to sore bums, loose stools, etc. I'd cut that out - or limit big time, and always dilute with water. My kids would get very loose BMs and soreness with juice.

It's probably making his poop more acid than his skin can handle and it burns him.
You can limit fruit - they don't need a whole lot of it - or you can get a good diaper rash ointment and apply it thickly at every change.
A boy in my son's daycare had very sensitive skin and always had horrible bleeding diaper rash.
The best they could do on the recommendation from their doctor was to make their own home made butt paste to try to coat his skin as much as possible.

Leave out all of the juice. He doesn't get the nutrition or fiber from juice, and it takes the place of water or milk as liquids that he needs more.

I don't know how old he is, but if he is still in diapers, use the butt paste the other mom mentions, at least until you get a handle on this. It possible that there is something you could add to his diet to help neutralize the acid in the fruit. Talk to the ped about this.

I would start a food diary and do it daily (even though I'm sure it's a pain to do) for at least 2 weeks, and describe the rash, how long after the fruit, severity, what you did to help, and how long it lasts. Bring it to the pediatrician with you.

I would check with his dr. They may want to do some tests if they feel he might have food allergies. They may want to rule out other food allergies.
