My husband got into Medical School in San Antonio and we will be moving in the summer. We will be getting good loans and he suggest I stay home with our son because I work full time now and I have missed out on so much. But I don't want to live off loans and would like to start a daycare at least, since its been hard finding a real stay at home job. My request is how much are moms paying in San Antonio for daycare??? I pay 160 a week and some people think its too much. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

My brother lives in San Antonio and they have paid quite a bit less for daycare. I think the going price there is around $125 for someone good. It is also much cheaper, but those are typically people who don't speak a lot of english

J.,

We have some family friends who own a daycare in San Antonio, and if I lived there, that's where my daughter would be for daycare. It's called Bright Ideas on Fredericksburg Road, down the street from USAA (a good place for a job, too). The owners are Jack and Eileen Heeney. A friend of mine who lives in San Antonio is starting her 13 month old son there in March. She really liked the place when she visited.

As far as what the going rate is in San Antonio, I'm not sure, but I'm guessing that it's probably a little less than the DFW area, just as everything else. Good Luck!

My sister in law runs a daycare in San Antonio and the going rate for home care is anywhere from $75-$100 per week for full time, part time is even less, like $50 per week.
It's extra money though.
In order to watch 1-3 children in your home you have to be Listed with the State and to watch more then 3 you have to registered.
