DO you know anyone who wants to give away free moving boxes? I want to keep my move as green as possible and hope to save money at the same time. Any suggestion on where I can find boxes would be appreciated.

What can I do next?

If you're in the Huntington Beach area, I have several boxes that I've already unpacked & many more to come. :)

Everytime I move I go to MacDonald's and get their MAC FRY boxes. They are the perfect size, they are durable and FREE!

hi N.,

Have you tried Freecylce.com -- there's an OC chapter and basically people trade things or give away things they do not need. Perhaps you can post that you NEED MOVING BOXES. Then people will reply to your post and you arrange a pick up. Good luck on the move.

I always got boxes from grocery stores, just ask the produce clerk or behind other stores. ONe really good box would be the ones that reams of paper come in. Businesses have those

Hello N.. When I was moving, I found that Smart & Final had the best boxes. They allow you to take theirs for free. The one I went to had a separate bin for boxes and trash. They were not soiled in any way, and were in perfect condition. Grocery stores (used to) let you have their boxes too, if you ask first - they'll set them aside for you if they know you are coming, but those ones are usually soiled from fruit or other items. Good luck to you!!

A lot of times you can find boxes outside of certain stores. I always get mine from Smart and Final. They put their boxes outside or behind their store in a bin. Other stores may do the same thing.
