Moving Cross Country - Need Moving Company Recommendations

Be sure to have a few different companies come give you estimates... get references from them and ask how they handle claims should there be any, and also about the insurance they offer. Choose a company with a strong reputation like Atlas, MayFlower, Allied.. please don't use a local company. My husband worked for MayFlower and Atlas for 15+ years so I have learned that there are vast differences between experienced and inexperienced movers.

When I moved from IL to AZ, I used a company that I found online because of the low price and I regret it to this day. They showed up about 6 hours late to pack me, did a cruddy job at it, delivered my stuff 2 weeks later after it sat at their warehouse for the duration, charged me extra fees when they arrived to unload and refused to unload the truck until I paid them whatever they wanted in cash, broke several things and lost 2 antiques with no reimbursement. I definitely got what I paid for. I learned my lesson to use only national, well-known companies with good reputations for big moves. Good luck!

we drove ourselves in a uhall, but i would NOT recommend that. it was too stressful on the marriage/relationship. stay positive on whatever group you go with.

I would say Allied. They have moved me from AZ to Quebec and back to NV. They packed my items and gave me an arrival date that was pretty much on track. They were government moves but they were nice. The other companies that were contracted are North American Van Lines and a German company. Enjoy your move and enjoy the adventure of your new home. Well you will have lots of history to explore going to Massachusetts.
