I was in the market for a new mattress last year, ended up getting a Tempurpedic as both my husband and I have back issues. My chiropractor said that she had tried the sleep number bed, which is also an air bed. She said after 6 months that they kept having to increase the number because the mattress stretched out so much. I talked to another friend who had the same experience and the guy at the mattress store said that's what he hears from lots of people that come in looking for a better mattress after they get through with their air mattress beds! I know that didn't directly answer your question, but maybe you might want to reconsider buying an air mattress vs. foam? I sleep sooooo good on my Tempurpedic. There are many mornings I wake up and I am in the same exact position as when I fell asleep. I was that comfortable that I didn't need to change positions all night long. The Tempurpedic mattress was insanely expensive but with a 40 year warranty, we thought it was worth it! It was the best purchase we've made in years.
