"considering how often rudeness is treated like some sort of a virtue here, i think you are an exemplary mom handling a difficult situation with admirable grace. " by Suz T

That really hit home with me because I have been told I need to get really rude and to let people have it when they cross boundaries. I have actually done it with a couple of people and felt good while doing it and bad afterwards for losing my composure and being rude back. Plus, I don't want to hurt people. Just saying no or rejecting the out-of-line request is seen as weak by many people. I don't want to be a mean bully any more than I want to be bullied.

Grace is the perfect reponse to so many issues - PTA moms, crazy inlaws, etc. There are times when we have to speak for our child, or clear up a misunderstanding - but so many times we need to show grace or undeserved merit. It reflects back on us and our kids learn valuable lessons in how to handle life. Good call SuzT and KayB!

I LOVE SUZ!! Seriously, she needs to write a book ;)

Someone once told me 'you will only be treated the way you allow people to treat you'.. HELLO! Eye opener... something I already knew but definately needed to be reminded of at the time.

There are some truly gifted sage women on this site.

The one's that come to mind immediately:

Suz T, Grandma T, Shira, Denise P, Laurie A, Lee P, Momof??? and MomwithCamera.... there are a few Joanna's....they all seem lovely and exude the perfect amount of grace coupled with real life experience and humor. Sometimes I go just to their site and see what they are responding to, then I know I'm going to read some good stuff :)

yay! I also try to follow the golden rule: do to others what you would like them to do to you. Maybe because of this expression "what goes around comes around." :o)

I also like what Suz T writes as well as Somer, who posted below too. And of course my friend Peg, who thinks a lot like me.

I prefer the quotes and/or women on here whom even if I don't agree are direct and to the point. A little tough love is good now and then. But hey, that's just me. I think it's important to hear ALL sides even when you don't agree..
