Ok, So I forgot about my daughter's dress that I had sprayed with shout in the dirty clothes. So I went to wash it 2 days ago, and I found mold on it. My question is how do I get mold out of clothes? This is my favorite dress. She looks so cute in it. I have tried spraying it with shout and washing it 2 separate times. It's not coming out. Any ideas would me much appreciated. Thanks to all the moms out there.

What can I do next?

I've never found anything to get the mold stains out besides just hanging it out on the line on a sunny day and letting it bleach it out.

I'm sure you've figured this out by now, I am just catching up on old e-mails, but oxyclean has worked for me. Put some on, rub it in and leave it overnight. It might not be perfect, but much better than it was.

Sadly the only thing that kids mold is bleach! I would probably toss it so it's not a health issue. We lost a couple bibs the same way.

My friend swears by putting palmolive on it, letting it set for a bit and then washing it. Good luck!

I've had pretty good luck soaking in a strong solution of oxyclean. Sometimes you have to let it sit overnight.

I was told to use borax to get the mold out and then rewash with regular soap if your child has sensitive skin.

Hi T.!
You can soak the dress in a gallon of hot water, 1/2 cup borax (big green box in the detergent aisle) and 1/2 cup vinegar. Soak it overnight and if the mold spot is gone....wash normally and hang dry.

Oxiclean! Pour water on the moldy spot and then cover it with oxiclean powder. Keep it wet and if necessary repeat the process. It might take a couple of days but it works.
