Ok this is a little embarassing to talk about but I need some advice. Well I was supposed to get my period last Tuesday and still nothing. Not even PMS symptoms. But the thing is I got a yeast infection can that delay a period? I've taken 3 pregnancy tests in the last week and and one of them was today. They were all negative. I thought you werent supposed to miss a period while on birth control. I'm just really confused as to what is going on with my body. Has this ever happened to anyone else? I don't really have any pregnancy symptoms either so I know I'm not pregnant. I've already had 2 kids so I know what it feels like when you first get pregnant. Please help me. Just any advice will help. Thank you very much! By the way I have not taken antibiotics just prescription cream.

What can I do next?

It is common to have very light periods when on BC and some birth control's causes periods to be so light that eventually you might not have one at all. If you are not pregnant then your BC is doing an excellent job of suppressing your ovaries, which is what it is supposed to do in the first place. So enjoy it if you can, however, since you feel so concerned it would be worth a call to your doctor to confirm that he/she feels it is normal for the type of BC you use. I don't believe that a yeast infection should affect your period. Good luck!

did you take an antibiotic for your yeast infection? because they can make the pill null and void.

This just happened to me about two months ago. I even waited a little longer to start my next pack of pills because I wanted to be sure I wasn't pregnant. Didn't want to chance taking my pills while being pregnant. I took another pregnancy test and it was still negative so I started my new pack. Last month my period came as normal. This has happened to me several times in the past also. I wouldn't be too worried. If you don't have another one next month then you might want to call your doctor.

the ourpose of purpose of birth control is basically for the method ( via pills, shot any chemical) to trick your body to thinking its already pregnant.so sometimes you will not come on your period. it;s really nothing to be worried about. but i personally don't like being off my period for more then a few months because i feel that i might be "backed up". and if I'm not pregnant thaen i feel it does need to flow. but you should ok. i really don't feel you have anything to worry about. good luck
