I had the IUD for 2 years and had lots of bleeding issues.

For example sometimes I would bleed/spot for a whole month. This would be randomly. Then most other times I was bleeding every 2 weeks. It was so annoying. No other issues though, just random bleeding issues that were so annoying that caused me to remove it.

I'm on my 2nd (9 years) and I had none of the issues you are describing. Personally, if I began getting migraines when it was put in, I would have had it removed. It sounds like it may not be the BC for you. Go see your doctor...

I had the migraines. Later during the day, after it was removed, they were gone and haven't been back. I never had the period problem. I just didn't have one at all anymore.

The migraines may be from the hormones in it. I had a copper iud because hormones give me migraines. I had problems with bleeding with it for about a year. Then one day I stopped bleeding, I felt sick, Then the iud came out, all on its own. Turns out I was pregnant. I now have a healthy active 3 year old. Lol! But thats ok. Yeah iuds are not for everyone. I have heard some women who never have any problems but most have the same kind of problems you are describing. Good luck.
