When I had the mirena, I only felt one string too. When I went to the Dr's. she told me that it was because both strings were stuck together, so I only felt one. It was really both feeling like one....sorry for the uneducated explanation. LOL!

Hi P Bear B,

I got a mirena 3 months ago. And I can't feel my strings. My doc literally showed me where my strings were because I told her I couldn't feel them at all. Talk about a strange view! If you haven't had your second appointment yet, go to it and ask your doc if you can see your strings, that way you can see where they are so you don't have to worry. (warning, it's a strange site. Speculum & Mirror) Otherwise, just call your doc to be sure that it is ok. Maybe he/she remembers how the strings look. I'm sure you're fine, but with an issue last time I'd call just to be safe.

Hi P Bear B,

My doc. said that only feeling one is fine. Apparently the strings can move around.

Hello,
I was told that you only needed to feel one. Not sure why but sometimes the strings can "wonder" so as long as you feel one you are good. If you can't feel either then you want to go get it checked.

When I got one placed one of the strings curled up beside the other string. The Doctor said it was fine as long as I was still feeling the one string.
