ok, really stupid question. Can your IUD fall out?
I have never had one and just read that 30% of women who get one can at times expel it themselves???

What can I do next?

Mine moved further in as well. Lost the string but an ultrasound showed all was well. I have the Paragard IUD..heavier periods but no hormones. Also good for 10 years instead of 5 for Mirena. Most people never have heard of mine since Mirena is marketed so heavily.

Yes, but I can't imagine it's 30% of women?

It isn't as much a risk of it falling out itself, as getting caught while you pull out a tampon or something. You are supposed to check once a month...

Aside from pulling it out accidentally,if you don't notice a 1 inch t-shaped piece of plastic falling out of your lady-region... I'd say you've got too much on your mind.

Mine did not fall out, but it moved back further into the uterus.

Yes it can, that is why when you get one put in you are told to check on in weekly to make sure it is still around.

Yes...but you are supposed to check on it yourself. Going on 4.5 years with mine and never had an issue with it falling out or not finding the string.
