I am 28 years old, two children and on the fence about a third. The pills were not a great birth control for me, hormones made me a crazy woman and I hated having to remember to take it. My sister has a Mirena and loved it, so I looked into it and decided to get one too. The actual placement was really uncomfortable, it'd be great if they'd give you a valium beforehand, but for myself it's been wonderful having it. My periods have stopped, though there are still slight pms symptoms, they are much better than when I took the pill. I did have people tell me they "knew someone" who got pregnant with an IUD, but I figure if it happens, it happens, and it's really meant to be! I've also noticed that they're called IntraUterine Contraceptive (IUC) now, instead of IntraUterine Device (IUD). I think too, that when we're for sure not having another baby, my husband will get to be the one going under the knife! Anyhoo, best wishes!
