Mild Nausea, Tender Breasts, and Now Heightened Sense of Smell.

So, here it goes. I'm 28 and married to a wonderful guy, we haven't really been trying to get pregnant, but are also not, not trying. We were intimate around the time I should have been ovulating (1st, or 2end of October). I have had a few symptoms such as mild nausea, that started last week but i haven't had for the last few days, tender breasts, but no more so then what I usually get before my period, and the latest is a heightened sense of smell. I just noticed it within the past couple of days. I feel like I can smell EVERYTHING. I'm confused because I have started, what I assume to be, my period today. My periods never start out too heavy, so I'm not quite sure if it actually is my period or implantation bleeding. I did take a HPT this morning and it came back negative. This isn't really early for my period, it's actually right about on schedule. I guess, I'm just wondering if I'm not pregnant, what else might cause the sudden ability to smell everything?

What can I do next?

It may be too early to tell. With my son, I did have a one day period. He was born exactly 9 months later. Wait a few weeks and test again.

I agree with everyone else. Symptoms of pregnancy are almost identical to what happens when you get or are about to get your period.

I agree with Andrea. If you are looking for symptoms you will find them.
BUT!
With my daughter we didn't find out I was pregnant until I was already three months along!
I had a light flow for those first three months.
If your period is wierd and you are really concerned go to the gyno/ob, but really you are probably not pregnant.
My case was the exception not the rule.

Very small possibility you could be pregnant or your body thinks it should be.

Well yeah it sounds like your not pregnant because you started your period and got a negative test. But because you were kinda thinking you could be pregnant and wanting to be the heightened sense of smell could be more in your head. It's easy to do this, like once I thought I was pregnant (but wasn't) and I was sure I was getting so much more tired than usual that it had to be because I was pregnant. Maybe you have just been around things that have a strong smell so you feel like you are smelling more than usual? Anyways I hope you get pregnant soon. Best wishes.

Give it some time and take another test first pee in the am if it is negative and you are still feeling like you might be preggers then see your doctor, smelling everything hmmm not sure why but if your test is negative you may want to investigate that with a doctor too.

It could be pregnancy , this is why some women do not realize they are pregnant.. they still bleed or get partial cycles..

Also I get your symptoms sometimes, on the day I first start my period..

I don't remember getting nauseus so early-it took several weeks for that to start. My main symptoms were tender breasts, fatigue and an itchy belly.

I don't agree with everyone that pregnancy symptoms are the same as period symptoms. Mine were NOT the same. I was nauseous right around the time my period would have started, and my breasts felt like if you touched them I would cry. Never had that with my period. Oh, and also I felt like I could eat an entire store full of food!
you might be or you might not, either way just wait a few more days and take another test. If you are still worried in a few weeks go to the OB. But of course, if you are "Not, not trying" you should treat your body as though you are pregnant so you take care of that baby if their is one!
