Hi everyone. My husband I have been trying, unsuccessfully, to have a baby for quite some time now. Long story short, I was put on Clomid during December. I have been taking pregnancy tests like crazy, even though it is technically too early for it to register. I'm having some cramping, so I assume my period is coming, but I am wondering if I could be pregnant. What were some of your first symptoms before a pregnancy test read for sure that you were pregnant?
Hi,
I too had cramping, would be convinced my period was coming would take a Tylenol and then nothing. When I did find out I was pregnant, the first book I bought said that cramps are a symptom in the first two weeks of pregnancy.
Good Luck!

I have only one daughter, but my husband has 2 children from a previous marriage also... he actually knew I was pregnant before I did! I had been having indigestion all day and when my husband opened a bag of chili cheese fritos (one of my all time favorite snacks) the smell was repulsive to me and made me want to throw up. He then informed me that I was pregnant. I didn't believe him and didn't think much of it until about two weeks later when I didn't get my period. Other than that, I didn't notice anything at all until about a month later when the morning sickness hit me.

Hi K. -
I had horrible cramps early on. I thought for sure my period was coming. I did also spot a little (implatation bleeding). We had been told I could not get pregnant w/o IVF, so I was very suprised to be pregnant!

Honestly, my first pregnancy symptoms were similar to premenstral ones - bloating, fatigue, slight nausea, spotting, stretching of the muscles of the uterus. It felt a little different, but I wanted to be pregnant so badly that it was hard to be objective about what I was feeling.
I hope for you a healthy pregnancy and baby. I bet you will make a great mom. :)
Good luck,

I had bad morning sickness... thought it was the flu for the first week but it never ended. My pregnancy tests did not read till I was a month pregnant, and had missed 2 periods.
I was also VERY emotional, I never cried but I cried at EVERYthing even the first month I was pregnant but did not know/think I was.
That is all, really had no other symptoms BUT it really varies from person to person.

My tell tale sign, before pregnancy tests register, is that I become lightheaded. It's different for everyone, but for me, that's how I've always known!
I wish for you to have an exciting year full of the changes a new baby brings!

Everyone is a little different, but I would always start with feeling some minor cramp tinges to one side or the other. My mood is what really triggers it for me. I get to feeling really short tempered right around when my period is due. It's like I'm biting heads off for things that were easy to respond to before without losing my cool. Patience has to be thought about. The only other thing I can think to add, is the dreaming. My dreams seem to be more vivid, I remember more of them and they can be a bit whacked out sometimes. You may get some headaches due to hormone level increases, or feel more thirsty than usual. Good Luck, and hang in there, it'll happen in God's time, and when you aren't stressing about it.

my husband and i also longed for children.... 6yrs later (and 3 miscarriages) we found our dreams coming true.... actually, i found a treatment that is likely why we finally had a baby living after 8 weeks. progesterone therapy. so, in my 5 times pregnant, before the tests were positive; i always smelled it....
seriously, right away you have the hormone in your urine and it has a very distinct odor. i always knew without fail when i smelled the hormone; in some cases just two weeks after conception. i will be praying for your little miracle....
the other symptoms-tired all the time and nausea show up usually after the missed period. my friend always vomited when she was in early pregnancy...that was her first indication to take a test.... sometimes the tests were even inconclusive... without fail; always a late night vomiting clued her into the pregnancy... and she has had 6 pregnancies..... hope this helps...

Hi K.! My first symptoms were mild to moderate cramping (I was convinced I was getting my period). This happened with both of my pregnancies. I also had significant breast tenderness with my second; none with my first. Hope you test positive!!!

I was very emotional. After I had conceived, but before my period was late, I got into a huge fight with my husband in a restaurant and started bawling. This was VERY uncharacteristic of me! That night, I wondered if I was pregnant....
I took an "early detection" home pregnancy test when my period was a day late. (My period is like clockwork.) It came back negative. After a week, I took another test, which confirmed what I already knew--that I was pregnant!
I did not have morning sickness at the time I found out, so I thought I was in the clear, but lo and behold, I got nausea around 8 weeks.
Just try to relax and have fun with it. You will go broke doing all those home pregnancy tests (cough, cough--speaking from experience)!

Everyone is different. Take it from someone who tried over 3yrs., stop doing the home pregnancy tests before you miss a period. Why be disappointed twice? That's how I felt anyways. You take it because your hopes are high, you feel symptoms & it's negative. So then you think, well maybe it was just too soon. Then your period comes & you're disappointed again. Not worth it.
The first time we were pregnant, I was on Clomid. Was on round 2 (2nd month) got my period so started round 3. Come to find out I was pregnant. Had a pregnancy period is what my doc called it. 3yrs later, after 8 IUI's & our 3rd IVF, we were pregnant. With that, I had cramping like I normally do before my periods so I just thought my period was coming. Nope, we were pregnant.
My best advice, don't look into symptoms too much. I know it's hard so I'm sure you still will but it makes it SO MUCH harder when you find out you're not pregnant. Be strong for each other & communicate. Good luck & email me if you have any questions during your wonderful journey!

sore breasts and very tired were my first symptoms. I was also on clomid and onto injectibles and I believe my body/mind "tricked" me several months in a row before actually becoming pregnant. Actually, I was 3 mo along before a pregnancy test revealed I was pregnant (even though we knew we were via a blood test)....

Hi K.!
Good luck, I hope it is good news. I just found out that I was pregnant and my first symptom was mild cramping as well, I also thought my period was late, but it never came and I waiting until I was about 5 days late and took a home test. I hope it will be good news for you too. This is my third pregnancy and I have been lucky enough not to have any nausea with any of them so really my only early symptoms were a missed period and very mild cramping.

With both of my pregnancies I felt this strange energy surge from my belly button to my throat. Hard to explain. With my second I knew before my missed period b/c of that. I even tested negative but knew I was pregnant. Also, felt like my period was about to start. But the super main one was COMPLETE EXHAUSTION beyond anything I was used to. It would hit me like a brick wall and I had to just crash. That was a tell tale sign.
BUT, if you aren't pregnant and you want to try an herbal route let me know. With our first it took us 3 years. I tried an herbal regime and got pregant in 2 months. With our second we tried a year. I took the herbs and got pregnant in a month. Just let me know!
Good luck to you!

Iknew very early with each because my gums would bleed when I brushed my teeth due to the surge of hormones in the body. They bleed from the first day until I'm done breastfeeding. Other than that I've got nothing. I had very easy pregnancies and no morning sickness, so other than maybe some food preferences changing I didn't really have anything else to tell. Good Luck and (hopefully) congratulations!

Hi K.,
I'm a mom to 3, my 2nd. was a Clomid baby. We tried for nearly a year before I saw my dr. for help (w/ our first baby we had no problems.) During that time period I tested a lot and was so used to seeing that darn negative result. Our second cycle on Clomid proved successful. My advice to you is to wait until your period is over-due or at least due before testing to avoid that heart-sinking feeling of seeing a negative. My first sign was that my period was late, I was charting/temping so my temp was up for the whole 2+ weeks so that was also an indicator. My breasts felt a little fuller also. I didn't get my signature morning sickness til 5 or 6 weeks along. Good luck and lots of baby dust your way!

I don't want to get your hopes up but I did have pre-menstral type cramping very early in my pregnancy. I had taken two tests prior to this that were negative. When my period didn't come I took a 3rd and that one was positive.

With my second I had really bad cramping about two weeks before I should have gotten my period. They were so painful at times it was hard to walk. I guess those are called implantation cramps. And then it took a week and half late to finally get a positive test. So, you could be. I know it is nerve racking. I took a ton of tests waiting for a positive because I just knew. So, I hope you are!

I've been pregnant twice, and both times I didn't stop getting my period until I was a couple months into the pregnancies. I also became extremely fatigued for (seemingly) no reason at all. I forgot the simplest things I was trying to remember in the course of a day. Everybody is different! All I can say is, visualize success and you are halfway there!!

K., Those are the same symtoms I had also. But I wanted to tell you about a website called
www.early-pregnancy-tests.com They are much cheaper than going to the stores. I get my tests from there and they work great. They are the same as what Dr. use.I thought this might help since you said you are testing like crazy. They are about $1 per test. Hope this helps.

Hi there!
When I got pregnant with my son, i felt just like I was going to get my period. The only sign that stuck out was that I felt full, if that makes any sense. I was also super moody. I yelled at my hubby for breathing too loud! I am ashamed of it, but it was out of my control. Also when I was got pregnant, I just kind of knew. I don't know, but I did.

K., I hope you hear some good news soon!
Before I had a confirmed pregnancy, I was emotional (much like my pms). Then I would be going to the bathroom more frequently. I also could smell everything (sense of smell increased).
I don't think I had any other cues before actually knowing for sure that I was pregnant. My nauseousness and other symptoms didn't come until after I already knew.
