Could be the soap you are using and if you are pregnant there is a chance that the store bought tests will not detect it. Try using no soap on that area and a non perfumed lotion around them.
Hello ladies,
I want to know if anyone ever had this. So, Since the day before yesterday my nipples have been hurting, omg, so much. Just the nipples on both breast, not the breast itself. I have done 2 pregnancy test just in case, and both different times are negative, just to make sure I bought the ones that say "not pregnant/ pregnant" lol! but they are negative. So, I don't know. I do have nodules in my breast but not even near my nipples and not bothered me that much either. I don't know what to do, I'm afraid of going to the doctor and spend money and something that is nothing. But for some weird reason come up w/surprise you are pregnant eventhough I took 2 test and negative. I know i'm thinking too much in this. But, why are they hurting sooooo much, and both nipples only????
Help!!! Thanks!

Well you could be getting your period soon... mine can hurt like that sometimes. Or another possibility is that you are taking the pregnancy test too soon.
I took a test one week (negative) and sure enough a week later it was positive.
If in a few days they are still sore I would just suck it up and go to the docs. Don't want to avoid a problem if there is one.
I agree, if it doesn't get any better, it's better to be safe rather than sorry when it comes to medical issues......
Be sure to let us know how things turn out.......take care.
Afraid of going to the doctor.
I don't know any other way to find out WHY your nipples are hurting.
Also, it seems to me that, if you were pregnant,
your nipples wouldn't hurt.
Your breasts might get a bit larger and more tender in a month or two.
But not nipples hurting.
Did anything unusual happen to your nipples
in the days before this hurting started?
Sunburn?
New clothing?

wait a few days and take the test again. my breasts hurt so much the day i found out i was pregnant that i didnt know what to think. it wasnt a soreness feeling either, it was full on pain in my breasts that i cant explain. it made me think what if im pregnant. i took the test about 2 hrs after that and it was negative...8 hrs later after i got home from work took another one (out of the same box) and poof pregnant. took another one from a different manuf 15 mins later and pregnant again. i think everyones body is different and all kinds of weird things can happen. if you dont test pos in a few days and it continues, then i would go to dr.
As I've gotten older I've found that my PMS symptoms have changed. (I'm 31) I used to have the usual cramping and breast soreness, but now I have nipple soreness too, and horrible nausea. A few times the nausea was so bad I suspected pregnancy. Is it possibly just a change in symptoms for PMS? If it's not even close to your period, then you should go to the doc and find out what's going on.
Go to DOCTOR! Tests can be a false negative due to human error or your hormone levels are high enough for the test to register it. I always got a negative with my first test each pregancy. To get best results at home wait until day of or afterwards of your period and do first thing in morning when levels are at their highest.
Doctors office can do a blood test which would be the most accurate or tell you if it could be something else.
Also, it could be just your nipple are rubbing against your bra and need some padding.

Your symptoms are so familiar! The two times I have been pregnant, I knew I was pregnant because my nipples hurt the way you describe! That is the only time I have ever felt anything like that. Is it possible you have taken the home pregnancy test too early for it to detect? I'd would make sure to take the test within 2-3 days of when you expect your period. If still nothing, then call your doctor. A rule of thumb my gyno/obgyn gave me was if you have symptoms in both breasts, it is "likely" related to a change in hormones... if it is only on one side, then it may be other medically related comcerns. In any case, when I was pregnant, the sore nipples only lasted a couple of weeks and then didn't return.
Hope everything turns out okay!
