I need some help. My 3 year old had a major accident on my new carpet last night and I can't get it out. We are talking about a huge spot and then footprints across the room....YIKES! We used Resolve carpet cleaner but it didn't do much. Any suggestions????
WOOT WOOT!! The stains are gone! Thanks for all the advice. I used hydrogen peroxide on half of the stains until I ran out and then switched over to vinegar and baking soda. All of the above worked wonders. Thank you so much for all the advice.
I have three kids and two dogs and I have found nothing better than good old fashion club soda. It really has worked on everything to date.
there is a carpet cleaner called kids and pets. it is great. it gets up most things. if you can borrow or rent a cleaner, we have the little green machine by bissel. it is nice to have around for these accidents. then you can suck up the mess rather than rubbing it in. good luck. fun mom stuff!
Vinegar, baking soda, and a scrub brush work on my light colored carpet. Whatever you go with, test it on a small area of the stain first. That way you can try to avoid an large obvious area where the cleaning product worked TOO well. Good luck!
You might want to let it dry and vacuum. Then use Oxyclean powder + water. You can test it first in an inconspicuous spot first like a corner or under the sofa. We have light colored carpets. I got out coffee and v8, milk stains, berry stains, most of the pen on my persian carpet... I spray, wait a few seconds and blot with a wet paper towel, repeat. Good luck.
Might be worth it to invest in bissell little green clean. Totally worth the $100 investment in my opinion. We had a dog mess, terrible and it took it right out!
Folex Instant Spot Care Remover, works every time!
The best products I have found to clean up our pet messes are Natures Miracle and regular old vinegar. Both products claim to mask the scent and prevent future accidents, but I haven’t found this to be true. What I usually do is clean the mess right away with Nature’s Miracle (or substitute vinegar if we are out). Once everything is cleaned and dry, I use Sol-u-mel and spray it on the carpet to eliminate the smell. Sol-u-mel has done the best job eliminating the nasty urine smell from the carpet. Sol-u-mel will also pick up any stains left over as well.
Try shout out! I don't know how effective it will be now that you used resolve. Usually what I do, I spray the area with the Shout out and let it sit for a couple of minutes. Than I wash the stain out with cool water. My carpet is light colored and it works. I started using shout out by accident. I had run out of resolve which wasn't taking care of the problem so I grabbed what I had. I have been using the Shout out every since.
God Bless,

There is a all natural product line called CitraSolv. I think they have it at Target, most grocery stores have it, Fruitfield Yield (Walmart does not carry it). For your carpet, you just mix a little with water and you can blot and gently rub to get stains and smells out. I had stains from my dog in our basement for months that I thought would never get out, and this worked you can even use it in a steam cleaner. So if all else fails, try this one. You can usually get coupons off the internet for it too.
Be careful, some carpets can be ruined by certain cleaners. If you know what type of carpet you have and what it is made of, google it and it should tell you what is safe to use.
Woolite, Oxyclean carpet cleaner is the best!! My 2 year old spilled a glass of red wine on our white carpeting and it came right off!! I was stunned!! I wish I would have taken a before and after picture!
Hi M.,
There is this stuff called Simple Solution...you can get it at Petco. Yes, it's a pet stain remover/odor remover, but it also works for human stuff too! We use it for everything! I once stepped on pomegranate seeds on my carpet, and it took out the stain! It works really well.

maybe try a pet cleaner?
Get a professional to clean it. I love Stanley Steemer. They come in and do the job quickly and professionally and get all the junk out of the floor. My dog had diarrhea on my white living room rug. I tried several things myself but they were still able to get out the stain. They told me that some of the things I tried that didn't work could have set the stain. Well worth the money if it is an expensive carpet.
Cornstarch!!!!!!!!!! We use it to clean up dog pee (we used to breed poodles) and it soaks it right up and the smell is gone too. Once it's dry vacuum it up. I'd change the bag or empty the container so that you then dont have it coming out next time you vacuum. Oh if it has already has dried just get it wet with some water then poor the starch on it.
This is funny because my 3 year old nephew peed on our carpet last night and I'm sitting in the room with a giant white mound of cornstarch on the carpet.
Nature's mircle. It is found also at the pet store. I use it for my dog and my son!! I got grape jelly that sat 24 hrs in white carpet!!
