I was holding my baby while eating (big mistake!) and he reached out and knocked my red crystal light over and it spilled all over the carpet! I have tried the carpet cleaner we had on hand (western family) and the carpet is still pink. Any suggestions?
The Folex carpet cleaner from Walmart or King Soopers worked wonders for us. We bought a house with white carpet and even after a professional cleaning there were still several large stains on the carpet. We used the Folex and it took them right out. Good luck to you.

Hi J. - use the Melaleuca Prespot!!!!!!!!!! There is nothing better on the market. I go through a bottle each month because I use it that much. My husband had a favorite Arizona Wildcats shirt - white, of course - what a mistake for him. But he had several spots on it for years. I tried the prespot and it was almost entirely gone after the first wash. The second time the stain was completely gone - not bad for being on the shirt as long as it had been. Good luck, Debbie

I saw that someone uses Melaleuca...and PreSpot is great for clothes. I've not tried it on carpets, but I'm sure it would work. I use Sol-U-Mel, and Mela Magic for stains on the carpet, and they work exceptionally. The Sol-U-Mel is works well for stains, but it also disinfects and deodorizes. I just cleaned stains at my nieces' house with it. She had coffee stains, pop, and new puppy accidents, and they all came out of her ivory colored carpet. And, the price is right!!
You can also find out more about Melaleuca at www.melaleuca.com. If I can answer any questions, just let me know.

I use Folex. That stuff even takes motor oil out of carpet and sharpee marker off of a micro suede couch. I haven't tried it on crystal light but now I am curious!! I just bought some today at Target for less than $5. Worth a try!! Good luck...it looks like you have a lot to choose from!!

You could try baking soda, or the mixture of baking soda/vinegar-it might help to bubble up the red so you can blot it up. Never rub, just pat and blot!!
You may also try Resolve. It's a foaming spray and it has worked wonders in my home with a almost 3 year old boy and my in-home daycare.

Oh girl! You have to get some Advantage. Go to www.advantage.com and get the Green Apple cleaner. I know I sound like a commercial but it is amazing stuff. My son spilled Red Grape juice on our white carpet...now it is very concentrated stuff and I had it in a spray bottle for my windows and counters with water added. I started with the stain that way but not to much was happening so I decided just to pour the concentrated stuff right from the bottle -- I had nothing to lose! I am not kidding you the stain was instantly gone! So I just kept pouring right on the stain - used a towel to blot after rubbing it in with my fingers and used my blow dryer to dry it.
I asked my husband when he came home if he could tell where our son spilled his red grape juice -- of course he pointed out a spot not even near it! So there you go!!
Best part ---- it is non-toxic!
Good luck

Hi J.,
I have a light colored carpet and spilled red wine on it a few weeks ago. One of my neighbors came to the rescue and used a product called Capture on the spot (a big spot/splatter). You can't even tell anything was spilled. You can get this at Home Depot.
Good Luck,

this works like a charm-- took red soda stains, which had been in the carpet for at least 6 months, right out!
mix 1 c ammonia with 1 gallon hot water. either spray or just dribble the mixture onto stain. take wet, white washcloth and lay over stain. run a hot clothes iron over washcloth.
it usually takes me about 10 min to completely remove the stain. the color transfers from the carpet to the wet cloth.
**open a window! this does make the room reek of ammonia for a few hours.

Try using the Rug Doctor spot cleaner that you can get at Albertson's, which is sold in the customer service center (it's what is used in the rental carpet cleaner system that they have there). It comes in a small red container, and it works great. Just ask customer service; they will sell you a small container. Follow the instructions--pour it on, let sit, rub from outside of the spill to the inside with a sponge, put a white towel or paper towels on top and weigh down with books (put plastic underneath so they don't get wet) or something else that is really heavy. You may have to do this several times to get it all up, but it will help. Good luck!

Try FOLEX it has done wonders for me. If that doesn't work try a rust remover made for carpets...sometimes those will take out colors better than anything else, but you'll want to test it somewhere hidden to make sure it doesn't take any of the carpet color out as well. Good Luck!

The best carpet cleaner I have ever used is a walmart generic called Folex. It is in a white bottle with a sprayer on top. We have white carpet and I spill grape juice everywhere. I tried everything but nothing worked. A week later I tried this stuff and it came out with little work. I have even go over stains that have been there for years and it is still taking the stains out. Good luck!

Try Capture brand spot remover. You can get it at Sears in a spray can. I actually do not follow the instructions on the can. I satruate the stain with it and let it stand for quite a while (about 15 mintutes). Then I take a wet rag and scrub the carpet. I will repeat this a few times. It is almost impossible to get red out because it's a dye, but this Capture cleaner works really well. If worse comes to worse some carpet cleaning places will bleach and re-dye your carpet.

You might try the Stain Devils ink remover that you can find at JoAnn Fabrics. This product is phenomenal on ink. It might work on the Crystal Light stain. (The product that really works on red food stains, that used to be available through Insight International, appears to no longer be available.)

OK, here's a tip that I received, but haven't tried on red stains. I did use it to clean the carpets in our rental and they looked good afterward, so maybe it will help. Use a mixture of white vinegar and water. You can make it as strong as you need - the gal who told me about it said she's used it full strength depending on the stain. I did notice that the house smelled a bit like vinegar but the smell really dissipated after the carpets completely dried. It's an alternative to some of the chemical remedies, but you'll have to just try it out to see if it'll help the red/pink stain. Good luck, red die just sucks. :)

If your carpet is a lighter color soak it in Hydrogen peroxide and then blot it up. It's a miracle cleaner. you can also get the Red wine remover from Linens & Things. I use both for all kinds of stains.
