OK, here I am asking for more laundry help, but I want to get this right, so here goes!! I just pulled a load of clothes out of the dryer that are all covered with hot pink lipstick (apparently from my 8 year old daugthers pocket!!) She is not even supposed to have that, so I would never have thought to check her pocket for it first!! Well, now the question...is there anything that will get it out?? I plan on using hot water of course, and I use ERA laundry detergent, but this is much bigger than that I think. Anyone have any luck in a similar situation? I love all suggestions, but I really need someone who has had a good turn out after something like this. As always, thanks for bailing me out here, lets all hope we find something that works, it is a big load:)

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Hooray for me, the clothes all came clean!! I used Era, some dawn foam dish soap, and soaked them in hot water until the water was cold. Because the stain was a grease based stain, the hot water and dawn seemed pretty logical to me, and thank goodness it worked! Thanks for the ideas ladies!! ~A.~

Here are a couple of options from a google search:
Lipstick is an oil based stain anything that disolves oil will work then you have to consider the die used to color it.
Believe it or not, I have used Lysol tub and tile cleaner to remove , chocolate, grease and crayon from clothes and walls. BE SURE TO CHECK FOR COLORFASTNESS BEFORE YOU USE IT. I have had no problem with it but use it on an inside seam that won't show before you try on the exterior.
Dish soap with enzymes may also work althouth I havent tried this one yet.
HOPE IT HELPS!!

I had a tube of smudge-proof lipstick that I left in a pants pocket. It went through the wash and dry cycle with the whole load of whites. I thought all the clothes were ruined. I tried dish liquid, dishwashing liquid, rubbing alcohol, hair spray, chlorine bleach, Oxy cleaner, degreaser, non-chlorine bleach and peroxide. I was about ready to give-up when I remembered I'd recently purchased a bottle of Lestoil. I hadn't seen that stuff for a real long time, but I remembered that it worked on real tough cleaning jobs. I bought it and put it on the shelf and there it sat.

I rubbed into each smudge in the whole load and put it in to wash leaving the lid up so after it agitated it could soak for a bit in case I'd missed anything. Then I let it finish washing and needed to wash it once again to get all of the cleaner removed, but all the stains are gone! My clothes are all as clean as when I purchased them! Lestoil is an unknown secret!

It is sold at ACE Hardware:

I also saw a couple of posts that dish detergent (like Dawn) was also effective. Good luck, and please share with the group what worked for you! :-)

Soak affected areas in Prespot. Wash clothes in Melapower with an extra 'dose' of Solumel. Should come right out!

A., I once had a fingernail polish stain on a shirt for a year and used it for just around the house. By accident, I left a load in the washing machine; I think the machine broke or something and the clothes stayed overnight with ERA detergent on them. When I washed the clothes the next day, imagine my surprise that the stain had vanished. ERA became my primary detergent. I do know it works with enzymes and you need to soak long enough to let it work. Whether it will work on that stain, I do not know; however, I think it would be better to use cold water, but I'm not sure why I think that; something left over in my brain from my mother's advice 40 years ago.... greetings from a mom with 4 under 5...I do understand how that could have happened.
