I really like Aveeno body lotions for dry skin, they work really well and you can buy them at the drugstore.
I have a couple Bath and Body works lotions that Ilike the scent of and use but sometimes I don't know that it moisturizes my skin too well. I live in a really dry climate and my skin needs a lot of moisturizing. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks

Scented lotions make me horribly sick even when they are on other people. I don't mean to be a Debbie Downer.. But perfumed products really need to be pulled off the shelves. Some people are so sick when exposed to certain chemicals that they have seizures and I might be one of them someday as my reactions are getting worse all the time.
Needless to say, I use Lubriderm and am stuck taking antihistamines and going through life feeling dopey because it's impossible for me to stay away from people all the time. I do try though!
We use Gold Bond in the white pump. LOVE it. It is very moisturing.
Next time you're at Bath & Body Works try some of their triple moisture cream. If that doesn't moisturize you, nothing will! I used it when I was on Accutane (which made my skin Sahara Desert-dry).
We have pretty dry skin in this family- I can't even imagine how many different lotions I've tried. To me, the best by far is Gold Bond Ultimate healing Skin Therapy Lotion- Aloe. I've also found that lotion works best if you put it on right after washing and drying your hands- or as soon as you get out of the shower. It absorbs much better.
Are you exfoliating a few times a week?If not I would begin then continue the use of your lotion products you like or are willing to try.
My favorite is Hempz original scent. I get it at the local Spa and it's SO great.
moisturizes with out being greasy and smells great.
yep it's got Hemp seed oil in it.
Hi K.,
The best moisturizing and fast absorbing lotion for me is Gold Bond Ultimate Healing Aloe. It seriously works wonders and it has a clean scent. My friend who has eczema uses it and says it works for his dry, itchy skin. They also have a great antibacterial lotion too that doesn't dry out your skin. I keep a tube in my diaper bag =)
I am in love and totally addicted to shea body butter, it is thick and takes some time to get rubbed in, but it makes me legs feel amazing. That and it smells so good too!
My coworker's parents went to Egypt several weeks ago and brought this lotion back with them. It's just called 'Aloe'. She let me try it, and it is literally the very best lotion I have ever put on my skin. It's light, it moisturizes SO well, and it soaks into the skin quickly and doesn't leave that greasy feeling... it's just perfect! I've never seen it in stores but I'm sure you could find it online.
I have an affinity for Mary Kay, which is sensitive skin friendly. They have wonderful make-up too. My grandmother, who is in her mid 80's, loves Mary Kay moisturizers and swears that they make her skin feel younger in the sense that it's softer and smoother even if her skin is thin and wrinkled. :-) You can find representatives everywhere and you can host a party and get free products and the more your guests buy, you get discounts towards your own purchase.
Obey Your Body is all right, but it's wicked expensive. You can find that stuff at the mall sometimes at the kiosks. It's usually sold by Israeli families since it's made with salts and ingredients from the Dead Sea as well as shea butter. It's heavenly but I wouldn't buy it without haggling for a great deal and then some.
We love the GoldBond in the white pump (not the yellow smelly gold bong, lol). It is kind of pricey, but it seriously moisturizes! We starting using it for our family when we lived in New Mexico.
Aveeno and Lubriderm Intense Skin Repair both work really well. CeraVe lotion is good too. The dermatologist gave me a sample when I was having trouble with dry skin. I found some at CVS.
if you need serious stuff, just try good old cocoa butter. if it doesnt irritate you, i think im a little allergic, but when i was pregnant i loaded that stuff on my belly all day, it was the only thing that helped really. some kind of butter or balm, like shea butter too. or an oil. less fragrance is usually better for you, as a rule, by the way. renew by melaleuca is great too.
I love Enfuselle Hand and Body lotion. It has no odor and is immediately absorbed with no greasiness. It also has a patented anti-aging ingredient.
Shaklee also makes a shea butter lotion. I like it better than others because it takes no effort to apply.
my favorite is victoria's secret garden collection - i use strawberries and champagne. the hand and body lotion (in a tube) works great. and it is usually marked way down during the semi-annual sale - although i missed it this year :(
if you're looking just for pure moisture, walmart sells a little jar of vitamin e lotion made by fruit of the earth. it is amazing, and you get two for i think about three dollars. it's the best stuff!
I use this. Scroll down for the video.

So much better than anything I've ever tried, and I've tried just about everything. Some days I even forget to use lotion! I live in a dry climate and am on medicine that causes dry skin, as well as have something else that causes dry skin. I know dry skin. :) You can use essential oils to make any scent you want. Some companies sell very nice mixtures, too. Next time I make mine, I'm going to try less bees wax to see if it melts any easier, but this stuff is great! I'm never spending money on expensive lotions again! Also check out this website. http://www.ewg.org/skindeep/ After switching from some of the products I was using, I think some of the problem was just all the extras in them. GL! Oh, the lotion bars even work for my son's severe eczema. That's how good they are!
My hands get really dry and cracked, especially in the winter, I love Melaleuca's Renew, but it isn't scented :(
My favorite right now is from LUSH. It's their Karma Kream lotion and it smells of oranges with a little spice to it. I love how it moisturizes and a little goes a long way. It's on the expensive side but lasts a long time.
