Looking to Buy Full Size Bed

Hi Moms! I know its close to the weekend and many are preparing for garage sales. Was wondering would anyone in the Rockwall, Rowlett, Garland or Mesquite area(s) have a full size bed available for sale? My husband and I are helping an elderly couple transition to a smaller bed. The husband needs a hospital type bed and his wife wants to remain in the bedroom with her husband. So her desire is to change from a queen bed to a smaller full size (to accomodate both beds). We are purchasing a mattress and box spring; however would love to find a nice full size bed at a good price and cut some of the costs! We're not looking for 'free' just looking for a sale. Thanks for any help!

Try the Habitat for Humanity stores that are located throughout the area.

Craigslist?

I've not seen full size in a long time. We have done a lot of business with Weir's in Dallas and Plano. They do have an outlet location and the furniture we have purchased from them has been very good quality and help up well over the years.

How sweet of you to do this! What a way to pay it forward!

I would check with Craigslist or Habitat for Humanity. Another place to check for furniture is Goodwill, there are many times when our Goodwill (since we have BuckHead, GA close by) will get great pieces of furniture in the store.

You could just get the metal frame to go with the mattress and box spiring. That would save on space and then make or have made a pretty upholstered headboard so she can sit against it and read or watch tv if her husband is lying down.

Check with Craig's List and Freecycle.
You might not be looking for free but if one comes available you might as well check it out.
Another option if you can find something that would be comfortable for her is a fold away chair bed or futon.
They save a lot of space and some of them are quite comfortable.

IF you already have the mattress and box springs then by all means, call around to furniture stores and find out what the cost is for a Hollywood frame.

Some furniture stores in my area sell them for $00+ but several sell them for less than $50. For a queen/full size. It's those stores that get uneducated buyers that will buy anything. Call around and I bet you will find someplace that sells them for a lot less that others.
