I am interested in having some professional photos taken of my 7 mos old. Can anyone recommend a good photographer? I'd like someone who could do some arty shots if possible. Thanks.

When you're done with a professional, can I get some practice?! I may start a business someday, but I'd like to be more confident in my abilities before I start, and that takes practice. I get experience and you get pics for free, (or if you feel it's worth a "tip", I won't object!). I do not have an official business going at this time.
I also don't have fancy props and such either, a) no money for such things and b) no place to put them! I'm a military spouse and have to move around a fair amount. (I'm about to go back into the reserves myself.)

Check out Mary Kate McKenna. Just google her name. She's got a blog where you can check her work out. MK photographed my daughter at 3 weeks, 3 months, & 6 months. All of it was pretty good. Yes! Karen Bolt is fabulous. She sets up a "studio" in your home if you would like. Her pictures tend to me more on the artsy side than your everyday JC Penney photos. She shoots digital and gives you all of the shots in both color and black and white in an album, plus a CD of the pictures and whatever prints you want to have made.
