About Women By Women in Wellesley is a high risk practice and they deliver at Newton Wellesley Hospital. They're very good. I use Dr. Vasalakis and Dr. Clark is supposed to be great too. Good luck!
Hello. I am new to the area and am wondering if any of you could reccomend a good OB/GYN who specializes in high risk pregnancies in or near the Framingham area. My husband and I are starting to think of having another child. Labor and delivery was very difficult with my first, due to gestational diabetes, pre-eclampsia and severe hemmoraging after delivery which required 2 blood transfusions. I'm pretty nervous about repeat complications, so I think a high risk OB would be best. Any recommendations would be great. Also any stories of similar situations that ended up fine would be appreciated!
Thanks.

K.,
You can't go wrong with Southborough Medical Group or Newton/Wellesley for all your health needs for you and your family. My OBGYN is Dr. Gardner over at Southborough Medical Group. She was wonderful during my first pregnancy. I also have friends who are patients of Dr. Gotlieb and they have nothing but good things to say about him. Both my husband and daughter also see doctors at the Southborough Medical Group. They're very convenient and have great hours.
My primary care is out of Newton/Wellesley and I love her and her entire practice, the Medical Associates of Greater Boston. They're independently owned and have great hours and great doctors.
Best of luck!
I have to agree with Jamie, by far Dr. Meade and her "staff" are amazing from visit one to the post 6 week check up. They make you feel like you've known them forever. Must call
My OB is wonderful!!! Caring for Women in Milford Ma. Her name is Dr. Meade and I cant say enough good things about her. I had some of the same problems you described (minus the blood transfusions) with my second child and we are both healthy as can be!!! I attribute alot of that to my Dr. Good luck and stay positive :)
Any of the OB/GYN groups at Newton Wellesley hospital. Easy drive from Framingham, on the pike, 20, 30 or 16 and you MUST have your baby there. The nurses are the best! My doc was Emily Newton-Cheh, but you don't have to see her. They're all good.
Dr. Tamara Takoudes at Metrowest Framingham is very good. She's only there once a week. She is based at Beth Israel in Boston.
I see her as support to my regular OB. I highly recommend her.
My OB is part of Southboro Medical Group of Framingham. I recommend them too but you definitely need a specialist as a support.
I don't know about the high-risk part, but my OB/GYN is incredible. His name is Dr. Robert Gottlieb and he is with Southboro Medical Group of Framingham, right on route 9 East. He has always handled any issues I've had with my pregnancies with grace he doesn't react in a way that makes you nuts. He's cautious and caring.
If you don't already have a pediatrician, Southboro Medical Group is a great practice because they have peds, adult medicine, ob/gyn, specialists, labs, etc. in both their Southboro and Framingham buildings. They also have urgent care in the evenings and on weekends. The Southboro office is maybe 15 minutes down route 9. Here is the website for Southboro Medical Group. Check them out. I have been a patient with the practice for over 10 years and really like it.
