I was told to go to moms.org for a listing of activities in the area for moms and their children. I went to that site and it gave me something else. I'm looking for something that my child and I can attend maybe 2x a month where we can meet other moms and children. Any recommendations? I'm trying to get my 17 month old ready for part time school when she turns 2. Thanks.

One website I found to be helpful was meetup.com. You can enter a zip code and the type of group you're looking for (for example, stay-at-hom moms) and it will list groups in your area. I found a group that was for moms in my housing development and have attended some fun playdates.
Another option that may be good for you is MOPS (Mother of Preschoolers). These programs often meet at churches twice a month. The moms do a program while the children are watched separately. If you do a google search for "MOPS" and the city of your choice, you will probably find multiple options. I searched "MOPS McKinney Texas" and found MOPS programs at three different churches.
I have been in the Allen Early Childhood PTA since my 5 year old was 3 months and I have loved every second of it! It doesn't matter where you live you can be a member of the AECPTA. However, you might find an early childhood pta in your area if you are not in Allen. Good Luck! :)C.
WOGA has mommy and Me gymnastics. Music Together Dallas offers music classes for mom and kid.
try meetup.com. they have listings of moms groups in different areas. they all get together at different times and do different things.
Your best bet is the Allen Area Early Childhood PTA. Check them out online at www.aecpta.com. It's a great way to make friends for your child and yourself and they have lots of fun activities. Good luck!
Once school starts, hit the mall play areas, library story times and try meetup.com. You should find lots of other moms with little ones at all those places! Have fun- I really enjoyed my stay home years.
Check your local library for toddler story times. I met most of my mommy friends at ours. Also check out classes such as The Little Gym, Gymboree or Kindermusik.

Try www.momsclub.org or www.mops.org for local mom's groups. Other fun things would be to join a kindermusik or gym class for preschoolers. I'm not sure where you live, but ASI has a fun one, Little Gym or Gymboree,& City of Plano has several fun classes too. There's also the early childhood PTA groups that you can join.

Have you looked into any Moms groups or Early Childhood PTAs? I don't know where you live, so I can't make specific suggestions, but I am part of the Preston Hollow Early Childhood PTA. On the Internet go to meetups and then put in your area, i.e. Plano. Clidk on parenting and all the mom's meetups for your are will be listed. Pick one or two of the closest ones and then you will be invited to playdates and mother's nite outs, and all sorts of fun things.
