I live in Plano and am in a mom's group called Mother's & Other's. They have kid outings, playgroups, mom's night out, movie nights, book club, etc. http://www.setonmothersandothers.org/
My fiancé, daughter, and I have moved to plano recently and haven't had much luck with making friends. I'd like to meet some mom's that have 1-3 year olds so our daughter can have someone to play with, but find some parents that we can be friends with to. Any ideas?

Join a Bible study at Prestonwood. There are soooooooooo many young moms with kids of all ages taking Bible studies. They have child care while the classes are going on. You can join now, for the season just started up again two weeks ago. Go to Prestonwood, the Plano campus, and click on Women's Ministries. There is a list of the studies offered. Great way to meet wonderful moms.
Check out meetup.com. You can look at different groups in your area that might be of interest by searching for things like SAHM, playgroups, toddlers, etc. We just moved to Dallas a month ago and have already made some great friends this way. Also, check out www.northdallasmommies.com.

There are great groups on meetup.com. Just type in our criteria and there are mom groups everywhere! I am also in an awesome Stollerfit class that meets during the week and on weekends in Plano. There are lots of moms and it also allows moms to workout while with their little one. I go every Saturday. My email is ____@____.com. Contact me anytime. My daughter is 14 months and we'd love to meet you!

meetup.com is a great source! i felt kinda iffy about it at first but there are some awesome playgroups on that website.
i'd also recommend story time at the library. my son (22mos) and i go to Parr library (off windhaven and tollway) and there story time program is great! we really enjoy it.
Look for an Early Childhood PTA in your area. They are all over, Preston Hollow ECPTA, Lake Highlands ECPTA (these are a little south of you), etc. You might also enjoy MOPS--Mothers of Pre-Schoolers. Mops usually meets at neighborhood churches. Good luck!
have you tried joining a church? i go to watermark which is off of park central right where 75 and 635 meet. there are speakers twice a month on various parenting topics where you can meet lots of moms. childcare is free, you just have to sign up a week in advance. there is also a wednesday morning women's bible study and the sunday services are awesome. let me know if you want to meet up there sometime! you can check it out here: http://www.watermark.org/ good luck!!! i know it's hard
I am new to this area too and am having the same problem! I started a group on Facebook called Christian SAHM. We would love to have you join the group! It is a new group, however, and only has 4 members. We are in the process of switching the group to FB, and not all the members have switched over yet, so it may look even smaller than that. One of the other members is great at introducing you to new people. Please search for us on FB. You can also check out www.meetup.com. I am also in a playgroup for 3 year olds on that website as well. I hope this helps!
I know what you feel like. Me, my husband and daughter moved here almost 3 years ago and I had no one! I started a group on meetup.com. Check it out, I have made life long friends! My group is in Flower Mound area called The Housewives of Denton County and most the children are 2-4 years in age. We have a calendar with different play dates every week. Please feel free to join and check it out. Meetup.com has thousands of other ones you may be interested in too. I am in like 3 different groups. Hope you can find us, if not feel free to email me.

Welcome to Plano. First of all this weather is not exactly cooperating with being able to be out and about meeting people. Our neighborhood has LOTS of people out in the neighborhood parks and trails when the sun is out and it is nice.
When you can't get outside.....have you thought about the reading time at the library, book stores, Gymboree or Little Gym programs?
Also, there are a lot of family friendly places to go. Watters Creek in Allen has a great green area for kids to play, when weather is nice they have movie nights and sometimes have live music.
Good luck meeting people...it is hard to get started but you'll do great!!
Hi K.!
How old is your daughter? I have a 16 month old and we try to do activities with others and like to meet new friends as well. I also live in Plano. Message me if you are interested in meeting up sometime!
I made lots of new friends from the Little Gym in McKinney and the Mother's Day Out program where my two boys go. I know there's a gymboree in Plano...that would be a great place to start. There's also a website, meetup.com, that I've heard people finding playgroups with kids in the same age braquet as their kids. Good luck!
try using meetup.com. you can find playdates for you and your daughter. and grown up groups for you and your fiance.
