I believe the zimmer museum has some low cost art classes for toddlers. The West Hollywood park also offers a "Tiny Tots" class for about $50 a semester, but it's hard to get in. Both these classes are for both parent and child.

my son is ready to go out and explore, i work all day long but my wonderful husband watches our son during the day, he is now on the look out for a class, any great learning,language, fitness, musical class that will entertain our son. ideally these classes will be affordable since he is currently on hiatus.

I don't know what is affordable for you right now but we go to Music n" Me at the Westside Pavillion which is really fun. You can look them up at www.musicnme.org Some moms have also told me about Music together. Both of these are $20 per class I think - maybe less if you buy a block. We also go to classes in Santa Monica called "Outside The Box". I'm not sure if she has classes for 2 year olds up and running yet - I have been taking my son to her classes since he was 5 months old and he is 14 months old now but I know it is her intention to continue as they get older. You can also look her up at www.outsidethebox4babies.com. She recently was added to Mamasource. Also Storytime at the Santa Monica Main Library is really fun Tuesdays at 10:15 and 11am and it's FREE. Hope this helps.
Hi C.;
We have lot of local community college in an area. For examples Santa Monica College, El Camino College, it depends how far are you in the area. Please check your local community college, they're reasonable and it is a wise decision to start the two years program.
Regards & good luck;

Please check out this place. I'm currently going to enroll my daughter. The prices are great. You can also check out their arts and craft on Friday.

Try Palms Rec Center on Overland at National (right by the library) . On Friday morning they have a couple of 'parent & child' classes geared for energetic 2 year olds! - one's called Fitness & Movement, and the other is called Balls, Balls, Balls. The classes are very affordable - $60 for 10 weeks. You might also try the Mar Vista Rec Center, Brentwood Rec Center, and Cheviot Hills Rec Center. The fees at these places are much lower than private companies like Gymboree and My Gym. Good Luck!
I am currenrly taking my 2 year old to this fitness and movement class at Palms recreation center on the corner of Overland and National in west los angeles.
The class meets friday mornings from 9-9:45am.
It costs 60 dollars for a 10 week session.
My daughter loves the class. they run around, dance, act like particular animals, shake eggs and jump in hoola hoops, play ball with their parent.
Im not sure if there is still room in the class but if not now- they will probably offer it again in spring.
Also, the YMCA has good classes
Try the locate parks. They always have great classes and they are afforable.
I LOVE a program we are involved in called Babes in Backpacks (babesinbackpacks.com). We hike one a week at different locations all over los angeles county. Its a wonderful way to introduce your child to nature and get that fitness in too. check it out!
Try the YMCA on Sawtelle. Two is a hard age, I found for stuff to do. Three is when everything seemed to be opened up for kids. I found it easier to take my daughter to that huge playground on Sepulveda just north of Ohio. There is a sand pit, swings and stuff to climb on and tons of other kids to play with.
good luck
Your husband and son can get a workout together (really, both can workout at the same time!) and spend quality time together in the FOCUSfish Family Circus class or Parent n Me Circus class. The classes used to be at Cool Baby on Pico and Crescent Heights, but there was a crane accident on the building, so they are transitioning to a new space. FOCUSfish is presently in North Hollywood at XMA on Lankershim and Magnolia. Truly worth the jump on the freeway. All green facility and absolutely pristine. A great outing and fitness routine for them: Tuesday Parent n Me Circus at 10am and Thursday Family Circus at 10am.
Checkout focusfish.com for visuals and stuff... really cool! Oh, the prices sound high for one person, but parents are FREE. Believe me, it's worth it.

Rosa Martinez (formerly of Little Red School House in Hollywood) just opened a new place. We went and looked at it with our son as we know others who have their toddlers going there and love it. She is wonderful and fantastic with kids. She does arts & crafts, music and has an outdoor area for the kids to eat/play and she is very affordable. Her number is ###-###-#### and I highly recommend her. Good luck!
Check the local parks. They usually have affordable classes!
