My girls do ballet and tap at Linda Fenton Dance Studio on 700 E. and 8600 S. We love it! This is the end of our first year there and we plan to return next year. Currently they are preparing for their big recital in June so I don't know how that would work with a beginning student but I do know that they have been taking new students whenever they are interested and I believe you can come for one class for free just for you and your kid to try it out.
I've done lots of research and discovered that The Little Gym is the best value for your buck. My daughter loves it. There's one in Draper. They offer tumbling and dance classes. I believe the dance classes include ballet and jazz. It's a good environment for just trying it out and seeing if you like it!
Hi S.! My 10 month old is in the baby classes at The Little Gym primarily for fun, but the point is development. We go to the one here in Sandy and love it. I can't attest to the 3 year old class, or the dancing, but what contact I've had with our teacher(s) is all positive. Good luck!
South Valley Creative Dance in Union Square, 9400 S 700 E. My eldest daughter loves it, I would send my other daughter too if the timing of the classes worked out. They are doing summer camps as well. They do lessons for children as young as 10 months. The children are allowed to do express themselves in their own way. It is so fun to watch these little ones come alive and enjoy music. The classes are very reasonably priced as well.
I have heard the little gym is good. A friend of mine goes there with her daughter and likes it ok. She does say it is a little pricey. I haven't really looked into it. There is one in Sandy off 1300 E and 8300 ish south.
