Does anyone know of a studio for dance/music/gymnastics/mom and me classes in the South Jordan/Riverton area? I would love to get my 15 month old into some fun activites with other children!
we go to classes at the imagination place on 33rd s and 11th e, i know there's one in sandy too, not an imagination place, but a place where "music together" is taught. we LOVE this class!!! dancing, singing and music.
I live in the Sandy area, and there is not a lot for the 15 month olds here that I know of. However the Little Gym is really good for that age and they are all over Utah. They have a free first trial session that is really nice too. Also check out your local Riverton Rec Center. Some of them are starting to have dance studio's offered inside them. I am not sure about Riverton, but I know Kearns, Taylorsville and Magna have all done them. Most dance and gymnastics studios want them to be two or three before starting classes because they like them to be potty trained. That's why I say little Gym. It is really nice.
There is a Kindermusik class here in S Jordan @ about 9800 and Bangtr. We have taken it for a year and love it!

I took my daughter to a mom and me class at Dance Explosion (they start at 18 mos I think). It was fun dances, tumbling, etc. Gretchin the teacher was wonderful. My daughter is now 4 and still takes dance from her. I am looking to start my 14 month old here in a couple of months as well. Cost is 35 a month.

I know that the South Jordan Rec. Center on Redwood Rd. does a lot of fun things and has a lot of classes. My daughter and I did mom and tot swimming lessons there, and it was so fun! We also did Kindermusik. They have a bunch of fliers in their main lobby.
There is a dance studio called Illuzion Dance that is located in Herriman. My friends daughters both took dance there and they are great! It is located right off of 13400 South and Bangerter. You can go to www.illuziondance.com for more info. Hope this helps!
There is a place called Gymboree (I think they may be sister company to the clothing store) and there is Little Gym.
check with your local school district,, on classes for childrens dance or tumbling,,,, There is also a great dance academy, but I'm not sure on age restrictions, called Elite Academy. My grand daughter has been going to cheer and tumbling and gymnastics and dance since she was about 3 years old.
Also, some of the high schools have programs where the younger kids can go for activity times,, might be a good start...

I have discovered that The Little Gym is a very cost effective way to do Mommy and Me classes. My daughter loves their classes and I love that she has a good outlet for her energy, especially during the winter. There's one in Draper, so it is a little farther away, but I find it worth it.
