I currently live in Downey but the house I live is has been sold and I have been given a 30 day notive to vacate the property for the new owners. I'm looking for a 1 or 2 bedroom apt/house preferrably in the North side of Downey. If anyone knows of a guest house or anything else available, please let me know, I would surely appreciate it.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thank you so much for the response I received. I've unexpectedly been out of town for the past 2 weeks so I had to leave this tideous job of apt hunting to my best friend. Luckily, she has found something for me in Downey and I'm moving this weekend.

Thanks for all the help though, it's good to know people are more than willing to help out with anything, it's great.

I live in Downey but off of Imperial Hwy near Brookshire. My daughters attended DHS and have now graduated, if this area is ok with you, I would suggest to call my landlord Hector Rojas # ###-###-####- we have 2 pool's and gated apartment bldgs. I have been here for over 10 years. You didn't mention what your budget is for rent so I would suggest to tlsk to Hector and let him know L. in apt #22 recommeded you - hope this helps, and good luck...I know how hard it is to find a place in Downey so your children can continue to go to school at DHS

Sorry I cant help you with a rental, however I just was curious as to how long you have lived in your current place? If you have been there at least a year, they have to give you a 60-day notice. At least its a little more time to look.
good luck

Have you tried Craigslist.org for Los Angeles apts/housing for rent with a Downey search? I believe they have listings you may like. Good luck.

Have you tried Craigslist.com? I found a great apartment in Pasadena by using their service (it's free).

Hi Mari,

I know you said you want to stay in Downey but I know of someone who is renting out a bedroom in her home in Pico Rivera, which is the next city. The commute is not too far and maybe this will work for you while you take your time searching for a place in Downey.

The person renting the house is a female who graduated from UC Berkeley. If you are interested, I would be more than happy to pass on your information so that she can contact you.

Good luck,

S.
