I don't know if you prefer a male or female, but my son is seeing
Dr. Sean Haggerty in Massapequa, On Broadway.
My son is very comfortable with him,
Good Luck
I hope someone can help me, I am looking for a psychologist for my 15yr daughter in my area. She is a wonderful child but she thinks she needs to speak to someone other then myself that can be objective. She is having problems in school academically, I have spoken to her guidance counsler and for the life of me I don't know how he got his degree. I am sure she is going through the typical teenage things, she talks to me all the time, even her friends come to me to talk. I had therapy when I was a teenager and it was the best thing that I did at the age. We spend quality time together for her age. And yes her dad is very involved in her life. If anyone can give me a Dr. that would be great. I live in Laurelton
Thank you to all that responded to me, I have an appointment for my daughter next week.

Dr. Jacobson in little neck -- just over the border from bayside. He's excellent. I think he treats children. Not a provider for myself but for a friend. Heard he's very experienced.
Speak to your pediatrician, he can certainly recommend one, or give you a list to choose from that will be covered under your insurance. That's where I started the search when my son requested the same of me.
Has your daughter tried the school social worker or psychologist? I am a teacher and in the high school I work in we have 3 full-time social workers and 2 psychologists. You can probably find out for yourself by going to your school's website and looking in the directory.
