Hi there!
My oldest will be 3yrs old on January 10,2009. And I'm wondering if there are any programs that offer a full time preschool program either free or discounted. She's pretty smart (I know all parents say that about their own lol) but really she knows her abc's can count to 20 in English and Spanish, can recognize shapes, colors, letters, and numbers when randomly shown to her... She can trace really well... I feel she needs the interaction now and really I need to go back to work also... Only thing we're really having trouble with is the pottytraining.
So if anyone has any info on a preschool in the area please let me know.
Thanks!

What can I do next?

Try South Charlotte Baptist Church. It's in Pineville on Lancaster Hwy right across from the BJ's (to the west and a little south of Carolina Place Mall). I don't know how much they charge, but they advertise all the time that their 3 and 4 year olds can read and write, so I'm sure it's very educational. Sounds like your daughter would fit right in. Blessings!

I absolutely love Matthews Country Day where my daughter goes. I'm not sure of pre-school options, but it's a 5 star facility that does amazing work with the kids. The teachers are very involved. Unfortunately, it's not free, but I'm not sure I've ever heard of that until they're in public school.

hi V.,
First you shouldn't worry about pottytraining, there is a lot of support in daycares and people there have a lot of experience. My little girl wouldn't go... she was 32 months. I told her, if you do, you go to daycare, have fun with other kids etc. actually I had her registered and the weekend before (!!!) diapers were past ... day and night ... no accidents, just like that.
I tried to find the same you're looking for, when moved here mid-summer. There is nothing free until they turn 4 and go to public school. The best prices are in church programmes.
We started with Primrose school which is one of the best in the area and very close to you.
They accept kids 2-3 days a week if available. We couldn't afford full time and she was there 2 days. But she didn't like it since all the other kids were fultime. I also believe another reason is that she was the only bilingual.
We switced to a church programme and she loves it... and is less money too.
There is a church close to you, I don't recall the name now, but it's on Pineville-Matthews and Park Cedar.
Hope this helps, if I can help you in any way, please e-mail me.

Hello V.:

Our son has been going to Sunshine House in Matthews since he was 9 mos old. They will allow you to bring them 2 or 3 days and just pay for that. Their 2, 3, and 4 year old classes are like preschool. They also work with the kids to get potty trained. Our son had a horrible time with it and they were great working with him there. It is amazing how much he has really learned in the last few years from them. The only other one that I know of close to you is Calvary Church or Carmel Baptist. Not sure on those prices. Good luck! :)
