I love Presbyterian!!! I delivered both my kids there. My 2nd child was born 8 weeks premature, and my nursing staff as well as the awesome NICU staff was wonderful!
I was wondering if anyone had a preference for either hospital and why. I've heard that Presbyterian has bigger post-delivery rooms and better care, but I'm not sure how true that is. Any thoughts would be very helpful. Thank You.

Hello,
I had both my Childern at CMC Main and both experiences were wonderful. My children recieved excellent care and so did I. My family was made to fell comfortable and well acommadated. If I were to have anymore children I would so it all agin at CMC! Also CMC childrens medical Doctors are all nationally recgonized if that makes you feel better. You can take a tour of the hospital. I would suggest you take one at Presby too that may help make your decision.
Dear H., I delivered both of my children at CMC-Main and was so glad I did. Both were born prematurely, 6 1/2 and 5 weeks early. I was comforted to be at a highly regarded trauma center. Fortunately, both of my children spent little time in the NICU, but was so pleased with the care they received and the knowledge and support of the medical professionals there.
I actually went back to visit the nurses who cared for me and hand delivered thank you notes to each one. The one nurse was with me for both deliveries and she actually remembered me 2 years later at the birth of my second child. Presby is lovely, I had a friend that delivered there, but if I were to ever have another child, I would go back to CMC in a minute.
I'm not sure if you meant CMC-Pineville or CMC-main.
It really depends on what kind of care you desire.
If you are having a medicated birth, all are good--though I think the rooms at both CMC-Pineville and Main are much bigger. The nurses at all were wonderful.
If you are looking to have an unmedicated birth or not wanting medication too early in labor, Presby and CMC-Pineville are more accomadating.
CMC-Pinewille also has nurse-midwives.
Hope that helps!

Hi Eeba:
I have never experienced CMC, but just had a premature baby delivered via c-section at Presbyterian downtown in April. My son was in the intensive care for over two weeks and I was there for a week due to some pre-delivery complications and then recovery from the surgery.
Presbyterian was the best experience I could have imagined. They recently rennovated their maternity area and it is like being in a SPA. The rooms are spacious, the nursery is wonderful and the nurses are so sweet and attentive. Quite frankly I was sad to leave. I feel completely comfortable with their hospital even for the most sensitive of situations.

I had my daughter at Presbyterian Matthews. The care and service that I received was amazing. A friend of mine had her daughter at Presbyterian Charlotte/Uptown. Coincidently enough we were able to compare the type of service we received at the same time. The Matthews location was so much better that she tried to change. Of course they would not let her. In any case, my daughter is 4 now and I still remember and appreciate that facility.
I am a nurse in the Labor - Delivery and I had my son there...it is true..you will love it. They offer tours as well.
