I would like to beging by saying Thank You to all of you who responded to my previous request regarding finding a great pediatrician in the area. I have begun my research and starting the interview process. Now, I need to find a great gynocologist. We will be moving to the area next month. I am fine with either male or female. We do have private insurance. If you can recommend anyone it is a HUGE help. As I said before, without your word of mouth suggestions I will have to resort to the Yellow Pages - that can be disasterous! Thank you in advance, S.

So What Happened?

Thanks to everyone for all your help and suggestions. We decided to go with Dr. McCormick. We have already seen her and she seems very nice. So far, we are very pleased. Thanks again, S.

Welcome to La!! I can suggest a great gyno. and ped. Dr. Janice Pharr delivered my 6 yr old, 19 mo. old and my 2 mo.old twins...I love her!! She is very straight forward about your care and well being. She is very cautious and thorough. My Ped. is Dr. Bonita Dyess at Pediatrics Plus. She is the ped. for my immediate and extended family. We all love her. She is not the type of Dr. who will just perscribe an antibiotic for everything. I could not make it through all these kids without her. I give them both two thumbs up! Good Luck in the search and the move!

Hey S.,
Most of the doctors with the Woman's Clinic are really good.
That is were I went for all 3 of my children. I used Dr. Won Lee. He has a great bedside manner and is actually funny. He tries to be very gentle were in the past I have found women to be more roudh during an exam. Dr. Tonya Shepard with the Clinic is also very good. She is extremely nice. My favorite was Dr. Lee though and with having 3 kids back to back I got to know him pretty well. During one month of my last pregnancy I had gained 10 pounds. When he came in to my room he said, with his accent, "Oh, you fat now", and feel out laughing. The thing was that I only weighed about 115 pounds. Like I said he has a great personality. If you'd like the number to one of the clinics just e-mail me at ____@____.com have 3 offices. One in WM, Monroe , and one in North Monroe. I hope this has helped with your search. I have several friends and my sister also used him and I never heard one bad thing about him. My last pregnancy I was put on bedrest at 23 weeks and he stayed on top of all my needs the entire time.

I would suggest Dr. John W. Mercer, he has great manner and is really nice. I have also heard great things about Dr. Landon Smith and Dr. Janice Pharr. Smith is located behind Glenwood Regional Medical Center and Pharr is on N 18th St. Monroe,71201 and Mercer beside St. Francis Medical Center

Hi S., how are ya?! I would recommend Dr. Terry Tugwell. He's my Gyn... He's a great doctor and he pretty much knows what's going on without any tests or anything...He performed a hysterectomy on me in June... He took good care of me and if I had any problems with anything between my surgery and my release date, he saw me for free... And he's not inconsiderate. He really is a good doctor. I saw Janice Pharr one time after I had my youngest son and , personally, she wasn't very nice... I don't like doctors that have no personally.. But, that's just me... I like to be able to laugh and joke and just talk to my doctor without having to be uptight.... I hope it helps!! M.
