What about something she could use in the daycare? A new toy, books, puzzles, buckets for sand play, or one of those floor mats with roads and towns for car play? Or a nice outdoor toy or play house if you want to spend bigger money.
I use a home daycare and have since both of my children were 6 weeks old. My son will be starting school in the Fall. Given the circumstances with schooltimes and the fact that my babysitter does not drive, he will be in a traditional daycare center's afterschool program when school starts. They will be able to bus him to and from school. My daughter is 3 and will remain in the home daycare. Obviously, we are pretty happy with her and she has practically become part of the family by this point. I would like to get her a small token gift from my son before he leaves her care. This will be pretty hard on all of us for sure. She will still see him and may even still watch him on non-school days. Any ideas on a memorable keepsake for her?
I love the idea about the charm and bracelet. My son has always been obsessed with vacuums...yes I know wierd, but what do you say! I ordered a beaded silver bracelet and a vacuum charm to go on it. I think that I will also go through some old pictures of him and make a small photo album of him throughout his 5 years for her. Thanks for the great ideas!

What about a photo of the two of them in a nice frame?
Book that he makes about his memories with her. Give it to her-- and let him make a card etc. Put a photo of him in the front of the book. She will weep when she gets this!

We just switched daycares and we loved our former daycare lady. She is British, and a Royalist, so we found her a china cup from the Royal Wedding at a nearby British store. She loved it, and even sent us a nice thank you letter, even though it was our thank you for taking such good care of our daughter! Is there something like that that you could do for yours?
some kind of plant that he can show how much she has helped him 'grow'.
A framed photo of him.
A thank you poem you write yourself. Short & sweet.
Sterling silver charm (smthg that symbolizes him) on an inexpensive silver chain bracelet.
