Hi All, I am a mother of 21 month old boy.. I had stopped breast feeding him almost a month back.. But I am still producing milk. Is this normal. I had heard that it shd have stopped by a week or so.
Also almost fifteen days back I had unprotected sex since it was very close to my period days and I had alreday started getting PMS cramps. But i havent had my periods till now. Could I be pregnant or its hormonal coz of stopping breast feeding.

What can I do next?

Yes -I continued to produce a bit of milk for almost 8 months after I stopped. It wasn't very much, but once in awhile it would leak out a little or if I squeezed my breast it would come out. Drove me crazy! It can take awhile for it to dry up! I asked my doctor about it, and she said it was completely normal. Take a test about the pregnancy, but you can keep lactating without breastfeeding or being pregnant for a little while.

If you are 2 weeks overdue, I would go ahead and take a test. It is possible that you are pregnant.

Place cabbage leaves in your bras to help stop the milk. It took me a while to stop producing too.

You aren't fertile that close to your period. Get "The Billings Method" (on amazon) book to understand when you can get pregnant and when you can't.

Milk can take awhile. With my 1st, I breastfed 13 months and still had milk for at least 6 weeks. I nursed my twins for 12 months, and it took over 2 months. As for pregnancy, when in doubt, always take a test...it never hurts.
