I'd skip the jr. and go for the regular Tag. My son got his at 3.5 and did great with it. His sister started playing with his when she was two and although she needed a bit of guidance, she did pretty well with it.
I am thinking of purchasing this for my son for his third birthday. Would like to know if anyone owns one and what they think of it! Similar products I should consider?

My daughter just turned 4, and has the regular Tag, and she loves it! I love it too, it's just the coolest thing! :-)))
My son got the Jr for his first bday he just turned three and he still loves it. I am going to get him the regular one soon and save the jr for his little brother. If he is three I would just go and get the regular one since you can use the jr books with the regular Tag.
We have both and I say skip the Jr. and get the regular TAG for a 3 yr. old.
My guy is turning 3 in April and I had wondered and researched the same question myself. From everything I have heard and seen I am going with the overwhelming advice to skip Tag Jr. and get the regular Tag.
Our son (just turned four) has had one for over a year...(Jr.). However, he prefers our his sisters Tag. He likes the books better, "mom my books are boring"....
We skipped the Tag JR and got the regular Tag. You can use Tag Jr books with the regular Tag (you can not however use regular books with the Jr). We figured we'd get a lot more life out of it that way. My 2 1/2 year old loves both the Jr books and the regular books. My 8 year old loves the regular books. We got it for our 2 1/2 yr old because her brothers were getting Kindles for schoolwork and it has worked out well!
We have one, but my boys lost interest in it within hours of receiving it (it was a gift).
get the regular tag at this age, my daughter is turning 3 and we just got her a tag and she still likes looking at the pictures and the tag has MANY MANY more books then the tag jr, and the tag can read tag jr books as well
