I'm trying to come up with birthday gift ideas for my son who will be 3 next month. I was thinking about the Tag Jr system. Does anyone have one for their toddler and love/dislike it?

What can I do next?

I don't have the TAG Jr but I have the TAG for my 3.5 year old and I am really happy with it. The TAG (not Jr.) is meant for 4-8 year olds so I wanted her to be able to use it for awhile and I am happy that I got it and not the JR. She can't read the words by herself yet but she likes having the story read to her.

We also purchased the TAG(not Jr.) for my daughter when she turned 3(last Nov.), for the same reasons that she will be able to use it for quite a while. She is interested in it, but still doesn't quite get it yet. My friend has a 4yr old who loves it and uses it all the time. I think it is a great "investment".

We got one for my 2.5 year old daughter for Christmas. She likes it, and I think she will enjoy it even more as time goes on and she understands more how it works. She loves the Animal Orchestra book and places the Tag Jr on the "Dingo Didgeridoo" picture over and over to hear the funny sound!

We have it for me 3 1/2 yr old. I think she needs to be a little older to really enjoy it.

Our best investment this Christmas for our VERY active boy who will be 3 in a few weeks was a personal sized bounce house (6 x 6) that he can use in the house or in the garage. Right now it's sitting in our formal dining room (who uses that room anyway?) It blows up in 90 seconds and deflates in about 2 minutes & can be stored in a closet or kicked under a bed. He bounces himself silly in it every day.

I TRIED to order it from ToysRUs, but it said that it wouldn't be available until spring (okay, then why is it on your website?) so then because I wanted it soooo bad I ebay'd it & got it for the same price. Well worth EVERY penny & it was a show stopper at Christmas when he saw it!
It's made by Blast Zone & called the Little Bopper.

Happy Birthday to your little one!

I bought my daughter the "regular" tag system when she was 3 & a 1/2. She loves it & according to the book is doing stuff at a 1st grade level - she's now almost 5. I would go for it - never hurts to learn! It's amazing what kids pick up if you teach them.

Rocky the Robot Truck is precious!!! My 3yr old son LOVES him!!!! =0) Some of his other favorites are his train table, his remote control Tonka Bounce Back Racer, and all his shake n' go cars. Pretty much anything that moves is a hit with him! LOL

We bought the regular Tag for my son when he turned 4 and he loves it. My daughter who just turned 2 now also uses it. I don't think I would get the Tag Jr. as it doesn't grow with the child. I found out that the Tag Jr. books work with the regular Tag pen... but the regular Tag books don't work with the Tag Jr. If I were you, I would get the regular Tag system and buy some Tag Jr. books to go with it. Then when your son is older you can start buying the more advanced books. The Tag is great for the car or airplane during trips because you can use a headphone with it. We buy a new book just before the trip and surprise them with it.

We bought the Tag system for my 3-1/2 year old for Christmas and he loves it. We decided against the Tag Jr just because he would outgrown it too quickley, but if its anything like the regular Tag system it is wonderful. I think you can never go wrong when promotting reading.
