You might ask a local daycare who they buy their tables from. They buy from companies who have of sizes to choose from, and they safe for children, too.

We are looking for a kid size table to go in a small nook space off the kitchen in our new home. The only access to the backyard is the slider on the other side of this space, so we can't put anything too big there. I'd like something big enough for 4 kids to sit at and eat, color, do playdoh, etc. without getting into each other's space too much. We tried the sundvik table from IKEA but it is too small.
Any suggestions?

Not sure if they have it now, but Costco has had a nice table in the past. It is wooden with four chairs. It's similar to the one sold at Pottery Barn and Land of Nod, but a lot less expensive.
Card table with regular chairs.
I have a little tykes table with 2 chairs but I put 2 more at it and they kids do okay. I suggest something along the lines of a bench instead though. One that is like a church pew, long and narrow. That way the kids can sit at it while facing the wall and have plenty of depth for their papers and markers/crayons. They can do all kinds of activities at this kind of table too.
Our kids still sit at the little tykes table to eat. Even if there are 4 of them, it is a little small, they are 5 and 8 but they still sit there to this day.
What about this one at costco? I don't know if it will work or not, maybe tell us what size/style you want. Round, oblong, square?
I have a coffee table that works great for what you are looking for, so maybe look outside kids furniture.
