What do you plan to use your deck for? If you plan to serve meals then you def will need a full table and chairs. If you only really plan to have snacky stuff, and sit and enjoy the outdoors with a glass of wine and munchies, maybe you and a couple of friends, then you don't really need (or maybe even want) a TABLE table. You might be happier with love seats, rocker/swivel chairs and a coffee table and/or end tables. They also sell umbrellas that extend/hang from the side of your space (don't need a table to stick the pole through).
If you are unsure of exactly how you will use the space, maybe hold off a season and use inexpensive temporary stuff (folding chairs for $25/pop through this summer with a card table?) until you decide. In which case you can catch the end of season deals in the fall. Spring is the most expensive time to buy patio sets.
Lastly, what do you plan to do as far as storing it? Or do you plan to leave it sitting out year round? That matters, too. If you get cushioned furniture be aware of having to bring it in before a rain to avoid mildew.
I say this as someone who rushed out and bought a table/chairs set for our screened in porch next to the pool right after moving into our house. I am happy enough with what we have, but every summer I daydream about what I "should" have bought to put out there. We don't eat many meals by the pool. We mostly sit and supervise the kids, with bowls of popcorn/pretzels and snacks, and a cold drink. We use the round table, and have dragged it out into the yard (with the umbrella we bought separately just for this purpose) for birthday parties and such. But generally speaking, we'd have been more comfortable with comfy swivel rockers and a coffee table than something to eat a meal off of.
You might want to spend a little time wandering through Lowe's, Home Depot and Bed,Bath & Beyond's lawn/patio sections. They have a lot of choices there, and probably even more available online.
Just don't rush in all the excitement. Hopefully, whatever you decide on will last you many years...so you want to take the time to give it proper consideration.
Enjoy!
